The Ultimate Miniature Pet

The ultimate mini pet... For the cost of 250e from a special "Mini Pet Trader" that would be added in, s/he would give you an item called "Molding Clay". This would allow you to clone one's self when you use it.

some brief specifics:

• if you are not in a town, the mini would not have any weapons equipted when you use it
• if you are in an explorable area, whatever weapons you have equipted is what the mini will have from then on out
• if your cape is off, the cape will not clone with the mini
• if you cape is on, then the clone WILL have a cape displayed
• the armor you are wearing at the time of usage is the armor is will have displayed on the mini from then on out
• the miniature pet would not be customised to the original user upon using "Molding Clay"
• the miniature pet is is sellable/tradeable among players
• the miniature pet will be green lettered
• "Molding Clay" would be a drop added into the game, with a drop rate of ~.005% of dropping from any and all types of creatures in all expansions. the drop rate would be this low to keep the value concurent to the price of what it would cost to buy from from the trader listed above (250e)
• "Molding Clay" would be a gold item
  

More options will be available in due time when I can think of them/when suggestions arise.

This is something that has been on my mind ever since the first release of original mini pets. Any and all suggestions/ideas are welcome, but flaming/fighting/provoking of any sort on this thread will NOT be tolerated. Thank you.

Well the ooze minipet that becomes /whatever is not a terribad idea but the minipet tader concept is ftl.

personally i don't want to see anything more in the game that encourages ecto grinding, they're 4.9K already let's not try for less.

You propose a 1/20000 drop rate. How many monsters does the average player kill a day? How many players are there? It would have to be way lower than1/20000, because I'm sure that I've killed 20,000 at least in the last month. If every player could get one just by playnig, it would not be worth 250e

mmkay, good point. a fix would be a further increase of how little the drop rate would be. perhaps...*thinks* .000005 would be appropriate?

Though it seems like a good idea, I dont like the way its going.

Just another thing to worn the economy down... And it would encourage the pro braggers to brag even more, make grinding ectos GW national sport, etc.

We had the mini polar bear for at most 48hrs, a couple trillionaires got one then they shut it down, seems to be the way things go as of late, whether by design or accident the trillionaires and armbrace exploiters get the vast majority of the super leet and we get stuck with below max purple bone spiral rods, req11

Another thing wrong with the mini pet trader as well with the general idea is that every 'ultimate mini pet' or whatever the official name would be would look different, or at least for the most part. I guess some would look the same but that would only be by chance, unless two people wanted twins, you get my drift though. So the price of them will ALWAYS be different. I mean, why pay 250e for a mini that looks like someone straight off noob island, if you can pay the same price for one that looks like Jesus on a lamp stand, with its fow armor died black, gold trimmed cape, and tormented weapons and what not. So some crappy noob islanders that by chance got the drop, then made it look like them would be worth but 10k... whilst others would be worth millions. I just can't see this not destroying the economy more than it already is. Which is truly the last thing I need, seeing as how before EOTN came out, I made all my money power trading, something that can;t really be done anymore.

Instead a clay icon, I would make it look like a paper Shikigami or one of those wood dummies used to practice drawing.

What is 250e? Ectos? I have never possessed more than 5 ectos at once, mind you. ;(

However it would raise ecto prices again!

I have mixed feelings on it, the idea of you only being able to "mold" yourself once, and whatever armor/cape you have on you at the time is what he will have forever, would be kind of odd. Maybe (though this would add to the complications) you could pay the NPC an additional X ectos and they can reset the clay somehow.

Ecto prices might rise for a month or 2 or however long it takes for people to realise it's just a mini pet then it'll go back to normal just like chaos gloves.

Still an idea not worth implementing in the game.
