I have seen alot of posts like these and tryed most things just wondering has anyone got any suggestions. There is virtually nothing on my pc due to having to use the recovery disk so no need to defrag and its only a few years old and was top spec back then.

Problems:
Takes about 5 times to load the game as it crashs then after about 5 mins of playing it freezes and crashs again

Is this due to something about my PC or has Anet decided to go for cheaper servers which if is the case is stupied as it will put of people buying GW2

Anyway any help or suggestions is much appreciated

I think that the problem most people have is that their router is blocking the ip of Anet when new updates come live.If you are using a router make sure that you have Anet ports forwarded.

If i remember correctly there are 2 ports to Guild Wars, wish you need to "unlock" there is Port: 80 and Port: 6112 , if you dont know how to foward ports or dont know if you have a static ip, i suggest you to go to this site: http://portforward.com/ .
also make sure your firewall isnt blocking Gw either.

If it doesn't have to do with your ports. Make sure your comp meets the reqs to play gw's. Are you running 56k? Try a better connnection speed. Are you downloading(or is any1 else downloading things on the same network) while you play.

Should have nothing to do with your internet connection. Since you mentioned using a recovery disc, I'd suggest updating your drivers first. The ones on the recovery disc are probably old.
