If you are struggling with a particular area, the post the area in question and maybe we can help you with some strategies. Also invite an player(s) in your group as you will learn loads more how to win than trying to do it yourself. |
Regardless, Anet appears to be against this request in any format. You're stuck with H/H, other players, or a combination thereof.

We already have 3 heroes. If you can't get through an area with 3 customizable henchmen, get a guildie and bring 6. If you can't get through with 6, someone is running the wrong build.

Its not a case of wanting them to complete the game, its a case of they would open up so many more options.
As it is if you choose to play with AI you have to take much weaker henchmen, this means you cant use different teambuilds or tactics, you cant enter some areas etc.
It wouldnt make it any easier than taking a team of 8 good players, heroes are still disadvantaged when compared to players.

There are builds out there that make 3 heroes plus 4 henchman good enough. Sabway being one. I you were able to futher customize the remaining four slots, you could in fact make a party that would be too powerful for majority of the game.
Good human player with good build
+Sabway 3 necros
+4 customizable "henchmen"
-----------------------------
= Big fat easy button

So what does that make teams of 8 players?
Heroes are at a disadvantage when compared to players so a team of 8 players would be much more powerful...should we stop full player teams forming?
Heroes cant use PvE skills.
Heroes cant combo skills.
Heroes cant use some skills correctly.
Heroes stay in AoE.
etc
There is no way it could ever be as powerful as a good team of 8 players.

I do play with pickup groups occasionally. I am just asking for a change that does not require enormous amounts of reprogramming. Just an option in the 'P' party selection dialog, and not dropping them when you go through a portal.
PS. I hate Ice Imps and Sparkies - especially as a warrior.
Of course a proper handling of 7 heroes would really be nice and most people want it.

....by any chance are you using a bad english translator? or trying to be really posh ala Mrs. Malaprop

Of course you can release the heroes individually and keep the henchmen flagged. The standard heroes allow you to micro manage them by electing the spells you want them to play. You can also set them up in agro, guard and dove mode. I would like to be able to elect heroes that behave like the henchmen, that is no fine control. By the way it is English and not english.

sure, henches may beat your heroes, but that's not in my case, without my heroes and only henches i'd have alot more trouble so no ty
henches are in guards (except for some war henches that are in aggressive) but still, NO
the micro management is very well done, i don't see a reason to change it
