So I reached rank 5 in the Ebon Vanguard rank so I could purchase Monument Armor for my Monk. I dyed it Black (even though the black appears navy) but geez when I look at it, it's just blurry... When I compare armors I've purchased for my 3 other characters, the lack of sharpen is obvious.

I love the armor but I think it could benefit from a little sharpen, sort of like the picture below

All I've done is sharpened the armor a little in Photoshop and in my opinion, it improves the armor a lot. Does anyone agree with me?

I personally don't see a difference, except the white is a little brighter.

I don't think anet will spend any time sharpening armor sets. If they did sharpen that set for example, other people (me included) would then ask for other sets to be sharpened.. because trust me there are worse sets out there (elite ele male kurzick).

Lol Kanyatta you may need some glasses

As far as the idea is concerned, I think Molock is right, Anet is not going to waste their time doing this, and at the end of the day as long as you are not zooming right in on your char the sharpness is adequate

As long as you don't eye every inch of someones armor no one will ever notice.

Use texmod. Open your monk's armor up in PS, sharpen it, load it onto texmod, run GW. Problem solved.

Look harder, you don't see one is more blurry than the other?

True, but most are fine. All they need to do is take their textures into Photoshop, apply a sharpen, save the texture and upload them to the server... done.

I don't use texmod because I like Xfire to keep a record of my gaming and Xfire doesn't detect texmod as Guild Wars (infact, it doesn't detect it at all). This doesn't make others see the armor sharpened though, only me so no good...

I am not that stupid. I have the graphics turned up to maximum, I run GW at 1920x1200 resolution, and I have enabled AF x16 in the NVIDIA control panel. My graphics settings are the best they can be.

I've noticed the problem mainly exists on taller characters, as though the texture itself is based on small to medium builds.

The sharpened one looks too blocky. I like it the way it is.

Sharpening all the armours, and fixing the red bleed (I want blue Monument armour dammit, not red, again *grumble*) on all the GW:EN, and other, armours would be a plus.
/signed for fixing

To be honest though I only notice a difference on the armour detail at waist up (shoulders are very noticable), the waist down is still blurry for me.

download the Hi Res mod that makes all armor high resolution as if you were outside of town... and if that doesn't work turn off post processing

The picture was a demonstration... a rough example of what I mean. It shows off how the armor SHOULD look like. Of course it's not perfect, because I don't work for Anet, and I am not a graphic artist/designer. It was simply a 30 second Photoshop job... I'm sure Anet can do a much better job than I.

I think you've misunderstood the meaning of the Hi Res Mod. I was the one who requested this mod be made. It doesn't matter if you look at yourself in town or outside town, the textures are always set to hi res for YOUR character. (As long as you have textures set to high in options)

The mod doesn't affect the way you see yourself, it affects how you see others and how others see you in towns and guild halls. The armor has nothing to do with graphical settings, it's to do with the texture files themselves.

I don't think they would waste time on something like that, most people wont be zoomed all the way in on their chars while smacking around charr.

I too like the sharpened version better.

I agree they probably won't take the time to do it, regardless.

well stuff like this shows how much they care and the lack of work that was done on GWEN.

I see the bit of blurriness now. But, what I have to say is, if they do sharpen this armor, they're going to have to sharpen every armor, and then, some armor isn't going to be perfectly sharp, and it's basically just a never ending process into infinity, or until Virtual Reality is made.

There are things that are actually important that they could work on.
