my heroes usually are ducky, olias (mm) and another depending on what character I am playing---usually sosucky (sh) but recently I have been bringing xandra (channeling) or morgahn (p/w build).....
I like using xandra since her healing skills are better than my e/rt and she does some pretty decent damage--not reliant on things being on fire for them to work.
though if I am with my guildee things change, but ducky is usually by my side for most of my travels. (and when he dies I say thats just ducky!).
which heroes do you tend to take on your travels

I main a warrior, and I usually bring three necros along; otherwise I bring any combination of eles or monks. Rarely, I bring two paras and an orders derv, or even a mesmer; I've been meaning to try a Rt/N minion bomber, but I forget to, and I can't seem to bring myself to take these guys over necros in most cases.
Depends on the situation, I use all my heroes interchangeably.
But my most often used (elites change depending on situation):
Olias as minionbomber
Sousuke as Fire ele
Norgu as Domination
Xandra as AR/Splinter/Resto
I don't use triple necro as I feel pretty competent in synergizing my own team builds for Hard Mode. Normally I use hench monks since my heroes deal more damage then hench do, and with Xandra running a hybrid bar she can patch heal between Mhenlo's Healing Breeze.

Kahmu - Can't find a use for 2 dervs in one build

Usually Livia (SS), Olias (MM) and Vekk/Sosuke (Changes, often dual attune rodgorts innovocation)
If no corpses then I add Vekk/Sosuke
Sometimes add Tahlkora as a Prot monk
I have been known 2 run Jora (Axe) and Koss (Sword) with one of the top 3.
Will run Dunk (Heal) and Tahlhora (Prot) with any of the above if required.
Rarely take 3 necros, I think the resto rit is overkill on the healing, especially when u can put some utility on the SS and MM (hex and condition removal).
Oh and Gwen or Magrid if I want interupts/BHA and the interupt hench dont cut it.
Rest of them I dont really use.
I'm ele, often mindblast but also go other ele builds again depending on the situation.

Nearly all of them. Some of my professions like to take certain professions (for example, my N likes to take all 3 N heroes for 4 N's... my R likes to take 2 R's and MM for b/p... my Me likes to take both Me heroes for 3 Me's...), but for the most part, I constantly cycle my heroes. Only exceptions are...
Heal/protection heroes. Henchies can heal just fine. Why bother to waste your slot on healing heroes? The only time I take a hero healer is for some specific HM missions. Sometimes, you may want a bonder (which henchies can't do), so I'll take a hero to bond. I also take hero healers for missions/quests where your team has to split up (since you can't split henchies). Lastly, if I'm playing with another player, there's no reason to take hench healers since you can take hero healers and still be able to fill the remaining slots with offensive heroes. Other than these, I stick with hench healers be it NM or HM.
Assassin heroes. I RARELY use them. Until Anet fixes the bug with heroes rarely using lead-off-dual (they'll often go 30 seconds without using the combo... just slashing away with regular attacks), I'll stay away from using A heroes.
All other heroes, I use regularly and constantly.

Doing the side scrapping bit in Tyria as a warrior, I generally took a Jagged Bones MM, and 2 Searing Flames Ele's using the henchmen for healers. If I was going to do Necrotic Transversal I switched the MM to an SS. Running around EoTN with a Dervish, I generally used Xandra as a Weapons of Fury + Splinter Weapon with a healer and warrior hero.

Olias the MM, and Livia the N/Rt(Resto) is probably the most common on my Necro now. The last spot is usually filled by Zhed(Fire) or Jin(BHA). I have structured all my Jins to be interrupt Rangers, and all my Magrids to be barrage Rangers. Tahlkoras are my Prot+WoH monk and see next most action.
I've recently got Primeval armour for Sousuke so he gets a look-in ahead of Zhed. Vekk is the designated Air ele for some GW:EN zones. Most of the other heroes are full of cobwebs.
On my Paragon main, Morgahn (Command), Hayda (Motivation) and Melonni D/N Orders (she keeps getting herself killed in HM if I give her a spear. Sigh.) My Ritualists uses Koss (Conjure DSlash) as the conduit for Splinter and Rage.

Mostly I take:
Gwen for interrupts/shut down. Almost always in my group.
Ogden for healing or Tahlkora for prot or Xandra with restoration. I like bringing my own monk/healer instead of henchie one when I'm doing things on my own.
Third one gets changed up depending where I am. Most often I use one of the following: Livia, Vekk, Jora.
