Mesmer vanquishing

When vanquishing and HM had just been released I saw quite a few primarily mesmer groups with a couple monks as well. Through reviewing some posts of the time I came to the conclusion that they were running Assassin's Promise along with Cry of Pain so that they could instantly wipe mobs and move on quickly with coordinated spikes. Could anyone confirm these suspicions?

If I am right in my thinking and the team build still works, would anyone be interested in tackling some zones with me?

Tankums! ^ ^

I think you would get better results if you included something like ESurge as your elite and Had GoLE as your emngmt.

My memory is hazy, but I think it's Avarre here on the forum who specializes in vanquishing "impossible" areas with all-mesmer teams. You could try PM'ing.

Assassin's Promise is not E-mgt, it's instant recharge of all (including Promise) when the target dies.
It 'stacks' so all players can target the same foe.
With 6 mesmers that's 600 damage on a foe, more than enough to finish him.
Giving instant recharge on CoP and AP, allowing to instantly switch to a new target (if any remain), put AP+mesmer hex on it and spike again.

Esurge/GoLE can't outclass this in a coordinated team. Ever.

I see. Suppose the only thing you have to be certain of then is that the targets are using skills and you are interrupting them 1 after the other. Seems like a novel idea. I would imagine it would be tough to pull off with inexperienced mesmers.

Thx. Good to know.

There is a group of all mesmer teams that goes out every saturday afternoon to vanq / HM something. You could always tag along with one of their teams and see how they do it.

I'd be happy to tag along with any mesmer team that will have me! Just get me their names and I will definitely be interested in coming along for vanquishes etc ^_^
Also, I talked to a friend of mine and we did some of this with a couple guildies. You don't need to interrupt anything, the skill that you use to kill is called Cry of Pain (From the Sunspear Skill Tree) and you generally split 3 mesmers each onto two foes. Cry of Pain does 100dmg (AoE) so it can definitely take out mobs quick. Thinking of running that mesmer build by itself, it actually still retains quite good damage output and can own bosses like they were born yesterday ^_^

i dont think you have to interrupt to get the damage from CoP.

Ah just have to have a memser hex in place. Which makes me wonder what hex they are using.

Probably conjure phantasm or something simple and quick to cast.

Wrong. It's Shanaeri Rynale.

Cheers. I see those threads pop up now and then, but I never really pay attention.
