Wow, the price of ectos just dropped to 2.9k each or lower at the trader (2.9k ea was the lowest price I saw at trader). They're back up to 4.8k each now but...wow. I ended up buying about 150 at 3.2-4k each. Here's to hoping ANet doesn't take them away or anything >_<. Anyway, comments?

Umm, a few allies of mine when I said it in Alliance Chat I don't know anybody else personally who got any but I'm sure others did as well

Wow. Hmm, I just sold 45 ectos to another person for 4.7k each... It took me roughly... 1 min to find a single buyer in ToA for all of them. Sooo, I would say the price is still pretty good.

Yeah, but most people never noticed it. I think the trader price is a solid 4.8k now instead of a near solid 5.5k, but it could go back up to 5.5.

Personally, I think it's just some rich guy who was super super bored (or completely ignorant of ecto prices, but then I question how they got that many), because if somebody duped for their profit or anything, they probably wouldn't just sell a load of ectos to the merchant. They duped because they're greedy, so they're not going to just sell about 250e for nearly nothing on a whim. It's possible, but...

Possible, but it's a highly risky way to launder ectos. And anyway, I'm with Ekelon on that one; stop auto assuming it's a duper, etc. Anyway, ectos ARE back up to 5.5k each. So all the drop spike really did was make lucky, observant people (like me) richer quickly XD. w00t

When ectos drop that much something has to be either wrong with the NPC's programing or a s_ _t load of ectos was sold to trader, don't think anyone who worked hard or bought them at full price would sell them that cheap. (1.9K if trader sold for 2.9K)

I've gotten PMs before (while buying ectos) from people asking me if they want to collaborate with me to crash the ecto market by selling a ton to the trader. They didn't have them on themselves, or at least they said they would have to farm the rest themselves. In my opinion, it takes a crazy person to sell that many ectos to the merchant/trader. Dupers are will do anything for and are crazed for money, but are not (necessarily) crazy, I think. Though that can vary highly with the definition of crazy and just opinions in general.
