Each time i visit the forum, most of the new threads are just complains filled with angry loos-players. Can we just make a thread that points out the good side of guild wars? So i decided to do it and NO FLAMING-COMPLAINS please.

Just explain:

1. What do you like about guild wars?
2. Your best moment in the game.

1. I think it's how gw is different of other mmo. I like the idea of instanced area so you can do quests without waiting a monster to re-spawn. The concept of builds>equipements is also a great point to play guild wars.

2. My first HA *raid* where we won the HoH from the evil europeans (joke)

I don't want to see any : (...) until they nerfed (enter skill-whatever-here).

1. No monthly fee and its very fast to launch the game, faster than my other games...Takes awhile to get into Steam Games, even Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has long load times to finally get into the game

2. GVG moments...its always fun being part of groups with other people and winning/losing in pvp

1 no monthly fee's and very fast to start, no long loading (unless first time entering area) but for the rest i don't have any complaints
2 it has something gentle about it that can relax me, without me having to worry and run around thinking about the next bullet that is gonna go through my head
3 some ppl are really friendly and are always up for some fun in the cities and we make a little party

Graphics. Gameplay. Girls.

Although a more realistic "bounce" engine like in DOA-X2 would have been nice ^_^....

I like the vast amount of stuff to do. I love the no monthly fee, but would still play it if there was one.

My best time so far is after playing alone for months, I joined a large guild/alliance last week. Did a lot of stuff this past weekend, that was topped off with a full run of FoW.

1. What I like best about guild wars is probably the skill system.
I just love making/adjusting individual and party builds and watch them kick ass

2. Best moment: Got a lot of those. But the latest one is probably my first urgoz run a week ago or so, with 2 guildies and our heros.

1. No monthly fee
2. The events are usually fun. I like the Dragon Festival and Halloween

Best moment? Probably the first time I mopped the ground with the Lich without so much as batting an eyelash.

1. Bling with no edge. There are all kinds of beautiful fancy gear, and all of it is on a level playing field with the simplest gear. I love that. It continues to please me and make me feel that my MMO is better than other MMOs.

2. My high points are all beating objectives after repeated failure. Thunderhead Keep was the first, but the most exciting was probably Defend North Kryta Province. I was high as a damn kite after DNKP; I couldn't feel my hands. Oh, also also, the Orozar Highstone quest in Sorrow's Furnace.

1. No monthly fees, but in conjunction with quality that is actually fee-worthy. By quality i mean well designed, well polished both in terms of gameplay and technical stuff, developer dedication and great graphics.

2. hmmm *thinks really hard*... The first time i saw the Jade Sea. Breathtaking. My jaw hit the floor. It still captures my imagination whenever im in the region.

Let's see here..
  1. Graphically, I find it amazing. Always something to look at and take a picture of. Lots of great atmosphere.
  2. The music. Peaceful, in areas, like the Jade Sea. Haunting in some areas, such as the desolation and post-sear Ascalon. The instense soundtracks of Sorrows Furnace. It's all lovely on my 5.1.
  3. The people. Sure, some Eric Cartman's around, but the majority of folks I meet are swell people.
  4. Build customization. It was refreshing to learn that I could constantly reinvent and tweak skill builds, unlike so many other games where once you put points in one area, they're there for good.
  5. I always have something to do in here instead of the typical "Grind for your next level". I still have a lot of Masters quests to do, some masters level missions, few elite areas to finish, some titles I'd like to achieve, some places left to fully explore. My list of things to do is extensive.
  6. Events, Festivals, weekend activities are all a nice change of pace.
  7. Booze, booze, and more booze!
  8. Some would disagree, but the whole storyline through each chapter was nice to go through and be a part of.
  9. There's no monthly fee, which suits me well because my work comes first, playtime is second.
  10. In the end..I just find it to be a lot of fun. Even after 16 months, I'm still enjoying myself, thrilled at accomplishments made, and laughing at myself in my misfortunes. Bruised and battered, but still smiling

2. Best moments would be beating Thunderhead Keep and Hells Precipice missions for the first time back in the days.

1. It's a fun and complex hack-and-slash RPG that's both satisfying and intuitive.

2. Got a lot of these, so I'll just give one: When all seven of my ex-guildies got squashed, at the same time, by one of the noob-filters in Sorrow's Furnace.

Despite that I'm starting to get a little bored with the game, I still login and cap a few Elite skills to advance my Skill Hunter titles.

There's a lot of things that I think that ArenaNet did right with the game:
* The idea that once you buy it, it's free forever. There's no micropayment model (which I cannot stand), monthly fees, or other "hidden charge" gimmicks.
* The servers are all linked together, so you can play with anybody, anywhere. I have played with friends that were living a thousand miles away, and sometimes even out of the country. That, by itself, is extremely cool.
* The graphics for a MMO are pretty nice.
* At first, I hated how there were insignias for armor. But now I like them. It has made the game much more varied, as everybody can now choose armor based on their personal taste, and it's not a bunch of Level 20 Monks wearing tattoos. I wish all games were like this.
* Making players put in spaces in their names so they (presumably) have a first and last name, and you don't see the stupid "Dave-102335" names like in other games.

Favorite things about GW:
1. The low level cap
2. The balance when it comes to gear
3. My guild

Best moment:
The first time I started playing... I got lost as a level 4-5 warrior in Post-searing Ascalon for 45-60 minutes...

You call DOA-X2 realistic? Does your reality revolve around the anatomy commonly associated with women in the porno industry?

The game is unique, and no monthly fees, so you can play for years, become pro, love the unique game style (as compare to other mmo's) and you never have to go in a game store and hunt a game time card down or put in credict card numbers (unless you buy some thing from the very easy to use gw online in game store)

1) Free.
2) Nice camera settings and graphics.
3) Solid gameplay system.

The number one reason I hate many other MMOs is the bad graphics, bad camera angle, excruciatingly long times to level, etc. I find the gameplay in Guild Wars fun. I may despise the community, the economy, the balances, etc, but it's a fun game.

Already mentioned are some of the reasons that attracted me to GW, and finally convinced me to buy the game (once-off-fee, art style, no pk'ing, no kill steals, not gear-centric, low level cap), but I've added another one recently that didn't really hit me until I realised that GW2 is going to be quite different.

Humans as the only playable race.
I'm not saying that having races in games is bad. But it is horribly generic. Occassionally you get a few original races, but the race you play often (but not always) determines vital stats - leading to certain races being predominantly one or two classes.

Not to steal from Cirque du soile/Optus advertising, but I find it incredibly appropriate:
"Humans are amazing creatures."

Look at GW. Players who own all 3 campaigns can make their characters look like any number of peoples from accross the globe, and while I know that some players find that undesirable, I absolutely love it. This is my greatest disappointment about the canning of Utopia and it's South American theme. Adding more ethnicities to the game would have had me in heaven.

I know there are many who do not agree with me. They like their generic, human, elf, gnome options. But I've played games that do all that. GW has been the first game where I've been able to create things like:

- High born English lady
- Arabic princess
- Desert nomad
- Little Asian orphan
- Hindi princess
- Large white barbarian

No other game offers the human race such options. (No don't get me started on Oblivion because the character creation screen there was just... Too hard to work with.) In (most) other games humans are boring. Or rather Boring - note the capital. And it never seems to matter what advantages you give them over other races, 99% of the population doesn't touch them for precisely that reason.

I hope GW2 will offer true ethnicity options for human characters - not simply a skin tone variation, but face and hair styles that summon up images of anicient civilisations. This is the only thing that will sell me on a game that (from rumour) is shaping up to be a clone of every other generic MMORPG out there.

PvE...

The low level cap.

The heroes.

The no monthly fees.

I think I am going to like GW2 PvE a lot less. Two thirds less, to be exact. Since the only thing that they are keeping the same is the no monthly fees.

PvP...

It's all pretty good. Not nearly enough arenas though.

Right the good things

Wel as I must admid GuildWars has a lot of nice things.
The environment in Prophecies is really great.
Dispite all the changes I still love to roam the Prophecies jungle and near
the region of Temple of Ages or whoop Shiro's but in Factions.

Also the gameplay is really easy take the graphics of the game as a dessert.
And you have some nice things to remember.

1. My guildies
2. Some of the people on my FL
3. The superb classes and the insane skills
4. Superb visuals - environment and especially the characters. Some character animations (such as a dagger wielding ritualist animation, Blades of Steel on a male assassin, Animate spells on a male necro, ...) are one of the most stunning things I have ever seen in a game!
5. After a few thousand (!!!) hours of gameplay - it's still fun!

(Free to play is a must - not a plus. If it had a fee - I would not know GW. Even if it was as good or better as it is!)

What I lke about GW - Easy Interface, game play that's easy to figure out and a LOT of possiblities on how to play the game.

Proudest moment - Tough one. I'd probably say completing all three levels of Cathedral of Flame with Heros & Henchies.

Today I tried AB for first time - we won about 10 out of 12 rounds, at least. Needless to say I'm not "ascared" to play against people anymore
