I think it's about time we get some input about GW2. It's been a year now since the initial announcement of GW2 being in developement, since then I have seen little or no news on GW2. Looks like the gamers putting their many hours in this game are left in the dark. One year is a long time to hear nothing on the sequal to the game that just sold 5 million copies.

There are rumors in the community that some further info on GW2 (including the exact release date) is about to be given in the PC gamer April edition. Until these rumors are confirmed by either Anet or PC gamer, we shall remain "in the dark".

It's not that unusual to have little information on game that's still a year away from release, this is particularly true with MMO's and especially when the original game is still going. If they make GW2 sound too great too soon, then it could discourage people from buying the first one. I expect we'll start to hear more soon though..
But look at Bioware's Dragon Age, that was announced back in 2006 and since then we've had NO information on it, besides the fact that it is 100% definitely coming out in 2008.

Lol, took me a sec to realize how u knew "Chuck". The I seen LoD.
But yeah I wouldn't mind seeing some news in April edition if the rumor holds true. Would be a pretty nice B-Day present. Seems that Beta is still scheduled for 2008 unless Anet says otherwise. And no I'm not flaming, just interested in my fav MMO.

the info we have is that some kind of testing will probably happen in the later part of this year------and since its only March, that is still a while... so sit on your hands or whatever. But I highly doubt they will put out any new information for quite some time!!!
As their date gets closer (say August/September) I would expect a crumb of info from them----not before.

i'd prefer them working on the game than telling us what they will be working on.

They need to release info, how else will they get input from the masses? If they're doing something that I most likely won't like, I want to tell them now so they can change it. I'm sure many people are on me with this, Anet listens to the community, and we need to be heard.

The last thing I want are typical empty promises or to see anything that vaguely resembles low quality. Get it right the first time before you release ANYTHING Anet.

If you look at the ArenaNet site (not the GW site), they are actively looking for more people to work on GW2 now. I also know that the folks at ANet are really, really busy working on GW2, but the reality is that they probably are still working on the very basics of what they discussed before, and are a long way from getting the fine details resolved to the point where they can talk about them.
GW took several years (5 from initial conception to release by my count), and although they have been working on GW2 for a while now, it still has a ways to go.
Anyway these sorts of threads really serve no purpose, so please don't make them here.
