Fire and Pain quest from Gwen.

I cant get Gwen to give me this quest. I finnished The Missing Vangaurd and have her broken flute but the quest just aint there. I looked on the wiki and it doesnt say its been removed. What am I missing?

If you have a Red Iris Flower with you take that to her.
If not exit the Eye of the North and go behind it to Gwens Garden and pick up the Red Iris Flower that spawns there. Again take that to her and see what she does.

Do not confuse the (broken Flute) with "Gwen's Broken Flute", just a note.

And I have one of the items "Gwens Broken Flute" still no quest. I'll try the red iris maybe that will work.

Easy way to get iris flowers:
Leave EOTN and hug the western wall of the outpost until you get to the garden. There will be 2.

If she says something like "it's great that you carry this stuff, but we've got more important things to worry about right now" (not as an actual text prompt, but as a speech bubble above her head), then you haven't gone far enough in the questline yet. You need to finish up on the vanguard quests before she will talk to you about Fire and Pain.

all you have 2 do is give her the red iris flower before you finish " the missing ebon vanguard" and its 3 missions.you dont need 2 have her i your party nor no you need a broken flute or any other object, but the the red iris flower.after you have finished the quest give her the flower again and she will give you the quest.

I didn't talk to her or give her anything prior to completing the Vanguard and it worked fine for me. I had a guildie come in and try get the quest with an item before Vanguard was completed. Didn't work. If it's not working for the poster, he probably doesn't have the right item, hasn't completed The Missing Vanguard completely, or it's a bug. You were right when she doesn't have to be in your party to GET the quest, just to DO the quest, you need her in your party. eddie2593
yeah......wht i sed give it 2 her before u finish "the missing vanguard" then give it 2 her again after u completed it
