Well, as we've seen for the past few hours, many new weapons have been implemented. I am here to ask about one, the Obsidian Edge.
Now, so far, one r13 has surfaced, and the owner obviously is not going to tell anyone where he/she found it, so I'm wondering, has anyone else found one? If so, and your willing to divulge, where did you happen upon such a sword? 100k +80 ectos is high for an r13 sword, obviously, so maybe if information pops up, this thread could keep track of where/what drops it. I'm guessing it has to do with the FoW, as it's Obsidian, but it's inscribable, which means that only the end chest can drop it, if it does. Are there any other FoW-esque areas in the game, like in Nightfall or GWEN? Maybe dungeons, but I really can't think of anywhere "obsidian" in either.

Confirmed that it does indeed come out of the FoW end chest. This will still be hard to get for the casual farmer, as you can't really farm to the end chest.

well u cant rule out the chances of hoh chest and zchest it might be the Equlivant of an Eternal Blade and the guy selling in the highend from seems skiddish to tell were its from i'm taking a guess and saying that q13 is from the Z Chest

It has dropped from the zaishen chest. guildie of mine got it, but I don't have a screenie =/. I have also seen the demonic aegis drop from a discord wallow (for that kurz quest) but again, no screenshot (was not thinking at the time).

One would expect from z-chest or fow end chest indeed (and hoh). Maybe there's a chance from shadow army in Realm of torment?
And if things are dropping from mallyx end chest, maybe something new also drops from urgoz/deep end chests? Time will tell i guess.

I have no idea where they drop, but when it is found out, they will drop in price like hell!

prices will drop within a few days. Don't buy them now. People buying them for 100K + 80 ectos are just dumb imo.
They drop from Z chests, fow end chests and probably the other "high end" chests like mallyx, deep and urgoz. There's also a huge change they will just drop from regular foe's. Nobody said the items were rare or something.

Hey i have a q13 obsidian blade and it comes from FoW end chest just as the eternal blade comes from UW end chest i am pretty sure its the same drop rate as the e-blade and same thing from z chest.. altho there are no confirmed drops from the z chest But this i bought from some one last night when there were only 2 confirem obs blades (2 q13's)
Also ps c/o on my q13 is 80e and its worth it wont be surprised if ppl pay more for these than eternal blade

Give it a month and it'll be comparable to a Chaos Axe. Unless it only drops from the end chest and Zchest in which case it still won't be worth much more.

The # of people selling it doesn't matter, proof of where it comes from does.

When eternal blade was introduced, there is like only 1 - 2 going around in the first month or so
Obsidian edge have been out for like a day, and there are like more than 5 around already.
Either Fow is much easier than UW, or the drop rate is much higher than eternal.

I hope people learned from the Eternal Blade saga that you shouldn't be so hasty to pay too much for these items. More will seep in to the economy in time, thus devaluaing the remainder.

I believe most people who buy the edge or the new items now are traders. Buy it for a price which he/she thinks is a good deal, sell it for a quick profit to another trader who thinks he can sell higher, and the cycle continues.

For a good month at least, eternal blades can only be found from UW (z chest haven't been introduced). And for that month or so, only 1 or 2 eternal blades have been reported to be found. Thus this leads me to my above conclusion.

Obsidian Edges drop from Z-Chests and End-Fountain of Wow Chest.
Thats all I know so far.
If the Z-Chest didn't exist yet, there would probably only be 1-2 for a good 1-2 months like the Eternal Blade did.
I REALLY DO THINK that A-net should get rid of the Z-Chest. It's the moneymaker for all the rich folks in Guild Wars.
