Why are some 6000 faction points and others 3000 ? Will you notice much difference between them. Thanks

Because the 6k faction points ones are harder and later to get in the main storylines in PvE.

Also - next time be sure to post a question in the Q&A forum.

There is no difference between them; the only difference between heroes is their profession and their appearance*. So, the only real reason to unlock a 6000-pt hero is because you haven't unlocked it yet in PvE, or you want two heroes of that profession.

*and the effects of Disease for non-human heroes, if you want to get nit-picky.

And the AI seems to differ slightly between different heroes of the same profession. Not massively, but noticeably

That was disproven ages ago.

Well, I can only go by what I see on my own heroes. Some consistently outperform others in a role. This was only made really obvious to me when I started running Sabway, but it definitely seems to be there.

Could you link the proof that the AI is the same for all heroes of a class, please? I'll do a search, but I'm pretty crap at finding anything useful.

You can do experiment yourself.

Get 3 heroes of same profession and give them uniform build. Watch them in battle. You will see that their skill usage depends solely by their positioning to enemy (like them kiting because of enemy/having to move and thus be late in casting, etc.).

As bonus, get E, Me/E and N/E heroes and deck them as SFers. Get awed when you see them use everything exactly same way.

All heroes are now treated as "human" for the affects of disease. But yes, this didn't used to be the case.

Don't the Ele heroes get different skillbars when unlocked? So it matters what skill are getting automatically unlocked on your account.

See wiki for info:

Honestly unlocking heroes with balth faction is pointless.

If your unlocking the heroes to do pvp...then [email protected]
Just play pve and you get most of them just doing the storyline.
Save balth faction for skill unlocks or weapon mod unlocks
