Quick Question
Sideways60
Hey, I just recently got interested into GW again and I was thinking of buying it again. If I bought the game again would I still be able to access my old account even though I haven't touched it for around 1 1/2 - 2 years?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes. If you still know your old account name and password. If not then you could probably send in a ticket to Support.

as long as you remember your password you account is still good....and what do you mean by 'buying it again'? Once you have purchased it you are done---no fees etc. So if you HAVE a copy already all you need is your email logon and your password.

I think he meant buying another campaign. If not then yeah, you don't need to buy the same campaign again if its already on your account, even if you haven't played in a while.

Lol. About the whole "buying it again thing".... I kind of lost the CDs like a retard because it was a while ago soooooo lol.
Thanks again.

so all you need to do is log on...I think there is a way to update your account without the cd's--since most of the stuff now has been updated tons of times....there will be a BIG download---check the thread about it...there is a -image command .....[looks for thread title...]
I guess my question would be if you still have the old program on your computer?? If you dont I believe all you need to do is go to the official site and download the client again...I am NOT a techie so you might need to check this out without the tech section....but I know lots of people have wiped their computers, lost the discs to reinstall and just went to a site to redownload it (no cd required) so since you know your logon that should be all you need to get started, again.

To the OP:
Go to guildwars.com/client and you'll find a link to download the client. If you don't have the CDs now, but do have a valid account, then download the client, install it, and run it to install the game w/o the CDs. It may be a big download, but it's better than buying another copy of the game. OTOH, you could always buy another campaign that you don't already have, use those CDs to install the game, but actually upgrade your existing account w/ that new campaign, (and the associated license key).

How much would it cost to upgrade my account if I just got one of the campaigns that I don't already have?

see I KNEW a more techie type person would come to my rescue!! thanks biostem!!!
factions is pretty cheap right now, not sure about nightfall---you can get them from the 'ingame' store or try your local game store (or target, heard they had a big sale going on not too long ago)

Hmmm, I'm trying to install it that way right now but whenever it opens the square loading box it wont go past 0%. It just stays at "Connecting to ArenaNet". Anyone know how to fix this?

Possibly disable your Anti-Virus?

More likely your firewall needs to be told to allow access to the GW executable.
