It's not just that the sword is stumpy, ugly, and looks more like it should be an assassin's dagger. It's that the sword the actual destroyers get is badass by comparison, and looks nothing like the 'stump'. If they could combine the texturing effects of the current destroyer stump with the base look of the thing this guy is holding:

^they'd have something.
