I personally think GW2 should have no evil at all, and just be a happy, sunny field full of mobile piniatas to kill for loot.

The number of players who just farm vastly exceeds the number of players who play for the story. Since the latter are partly responsible for lore theory-crafting, I suggest we please the majority and remove the abomination.

Would you prefer "Guilld Wars 2: Shiro Tagachi and the Fortune Teller, Again!"

Actually I don't care what they do, as long as the story makes sense, doesn't suck, and has decent voicing.

Omg nooooooo not another stupid Shiro Tagachi and the Fortune Tellerlike story again. That has to be the very worst rpg story I've even been a part of in my 25 years of playing computer rpg games. Not to forget that the artwork in the early parts of Factions was pretty horrible as well. I was never so glad to finish a story and get my prize and leave a chapter as I was Factions. Nightfalls was pretty good and I loved Torment all the way it was very challenging up until the final battle which I thought was pretty easy compared to the ohhhhhh noooooo Shiro mission before that one. lol These kids today just don't know how to right a good immersive compelling stories anymore. There's no great characters like Robin Hood and Ivanhoe and Sir Lancelot or Popeye or Brutus or Conan or Rapunzel. <grin>

I can agree with this. But I'd also like to add - and purrty graphics/animations.

This is a bit off-topic, but I've always wondered, what is your beef with theory-crafting? I personally love it because it gets people's creative juices flowing, and sometimes great ideas can come of it. Just because (and even if) 99% of it goes nowhere and/or is crap, that 1% could easily make it all worth it.

If 99% of Guru threads did that, the forum would go down. Yet Lore endures, because it's a ridiculous topic area that contributes little and isn't expected to.

Anyways, considering the farming aptitude of the playerbase, why doesn't ANet make the characters the antagonists, and the story about you going across Tyria destroying everyone and looting everything they own. It's not like you don't do it anyways, but at least it would make proper sense that way.

I would almost place money on that percentage for the entirety of Guru. It isn't just lore. What percentage of suggestions do you think get implemented? Of all the whining for nerfs and buffs, what percentage of those do you think actually get considered and changed? Other than players asking for help (builds, missons, PvP, whatever), which could easily just be redirected to wiki or discussed in-game or on guild forums, the only other type of threads you have are off-topic, and 'discussion' which accomplish nothing than just taking up space.

I seriously fail to see how lore topics are any different than any other topic on Guru.

I... I dont know why are you wonderig about this.
There will be a "great" boss, when you "finish" the storyline AND for sure, 1 thing from this will happen:

1 - Nothing
2 - Someone will say ya "TY! for saving da great world... have fun! cu!"
3 - You will deserve the right to be a god but... stop. "hey, i am the most powerful and doll-like standing non-attacking/supporting NPC, aka Sunspear blind female commander. Let me be the god(dess) for you. Just go take some coffe instead"

Ummm i dont know about it but... this time will be Livia who does the 3rd thing? Will we have Avatar of Livia? Interesting....

Who knows about the future! lol
