I wanted to know what was the best possible rune/insignia setup for the following heroes.

Orders Necro (D/N)
Minion Master (N)
Restoration Necro (N/Rt)
Spear Paragon (P)
Motivation Support Paragon (P)
Healer's Boon Monk (Mo)
Searing Flames Elementist (E)
Domination Mesmer (Me)

I know everyone has been screaming Survivors are the best for HM. But, shouldn't some of these classes use something other then survivors. What is the best setup I can use with these guys? Should I be equiping any runes of status effect reduction? Should I go Vitae or Attunement for some of these guys? If possible can you please list all the runes/insignias I should have on each of my main heroes. I would really appreciate it. I'm going for top performance here.

Well mm shouldn't need attunement as long as you have them equipped with a good staff or wand and off hand (+15 energy inscription helps) to give them a decent amount of energy, and use a relatively high amount of soul reaping (at least 9). Oh and for mm vitae helps because to have good minions you'll need the hero to have a super death rune, (major vigor as well).

Its not really that simple is it? Surely you cater them to suit the builds and areas you are running. I simply treat them if they were real characters and not heroes. eg. My ele hero has radiant insignias to give him a larger energy pool to play with. My MM has to have superior death otherwise prissy little minions dotting about aint much use.
There is no best possible rune/insignia setup, its just what suits the way you play and the way you want to play

I thought that was a No No in Hard Mode and other places. I started running no Superior Runes on anyone. Maybe you can just give me an example of how you would set those characters up.

Well i am a necro so if i need mm and i am running something else i run the same skills as i do, which is OANDUsldOYc3JGBPMFoCHVgG , copy and load that sometime, you'll see that it works fairly well, only issue i have with my mm is that i recently added the sup death and i have not put on runes to cancel out that health loss yet, but as long as the mm has around 500 hp and as long as your healers are decent it'll be fine ( when i myself run mm i have about 80 energy, my hero usually runes with around 50)

stick with survivors and minor runes as best as you can, although for the minion master id throw in a superior death.. if energy management issues pop up, which they probably shouldn't, throw in energy runes..but keep your hp above 500 at least.

try to keep everything above 550hp. your monks should have above 600, although on heroes you could probably give them a little bit more energy since they wont be switching weapon sets as a person would..

try to incorporate your "spear paragon" with your "motivation paragon". paras aren't really known for their DPS.
but anyways, stick with the most health possible.

hp is always better than energy, because if your dead you have no use for energy with your monks use a minor divine favor, healing, and prot (if they are using prots, which chances are they are)

the purpose of the n/rt as a healer is to gain energy from dying minions/foes/possibly allies :P. however they arent GREAT healers. i think a monk would be better for a pve situation, seeing as the corpses for energy management wont always be there. (im not sure golems give benefit to soul reaping due to the unexploitable corpses.. you might want to check on that=/) id pick bonder for this, but heroes are exceptionally horrid bonders. you could always look around..but who knows a n/rt might be just fine.

Enraged Whiny Carebears [oR]

W/E

Survivor, Radiant, S, R, S. In that order.

Except for the MM, throw in a bloodstained.

Runes -- Main attrib, vigor, primary attrib, secondary attrib/attunement, vitae. I don't like +armor insignas, Too conditional. And runes that reduce conditions are just bad, especially for PvE..

If you have a character that can support Save Yourselves, then just go all Survivors. Otherwise I'd go with:

Orders Necro (D/N) - Windwalker's
Minion Master (N) - Minion Master's or Tormentor's + Bloodstained on hands
Restoration Necro (N/Rt) - Tormentor's
Spear Paragon (P) - Centurion's
Motivation Support Paragon (P) - Centurion's
Healer's Boon Monk (Mo) - Blessed
Searing Flames Elementist (E) - Blessed
Domination Mesmer (Me) - Survivor's

Minors for everything except sup death on the MM, you can maybe afford a major on the Paras.

Vitae on any spare rune slots.

Superior Death is probably the only exception, because the additional attribute points make quite a significant difference. Sacrifice spells like BotM also benefits from a lower health. If you're afraid that the MM will be bullied in HM bump up his health back to 480+ with Major/Minor Vigor, Survivor and Vitae runes.

Vitae on any spare rune slots. So it looks like your more armor over health kinda person. How is that Minion Master faring with no Survivor/Vitae to balance the Superior Death rune costs? You find that for the most part that unconditional armor out weighs the health gain from survivors?

I haven't had any problems as the mobs usually lock on to the minions. There's still a Sup Vigor + two Vitaes so he gets more of a health buffer, and I run Dark Bond if necessary.

More AL means less damage taken, less damage to heal and better energy-efficiency, while more HP (only) increases the (fail-safe) buffer, without reducing the amount of healing required.

Superior Death is useful as all the minion's stats linearly progress with their level, while the return of investment in normal weapon-attributes is reduced beyond level 12.

My Minion Master is at 435 Health with the Superior Death. I have Tormentor's on all pieces except the hands which has Bloodstained. I have a Superior Vigor Rune and 2 Vitae pieces. Still... it seems rather low. Is this how everyone else's MM looks?

You should be able to get him to 480-75+50+20 = 475 with the superior death and vigor. Are you certain he has the superior vigor, 435+40=475

He is my lowest health character. Should I go Tormentor's, Survivors, or Minion Masters? He is at 475 with 2 Vitae Rune
