Disabling the Windows key requires an edit in your registry. Just Google "disable windows key" and you'll have plenty of results. This is not an attempt to avoid your question, as it's more help to just point you in that direction.
Keep in mind also that this will be a global change that will affect all of the users on that machine. You can access the registry editor in Windows XP by the following:
Start->Run->[type regedit in the box]->Enter

This may not work for your particular situation, but....I have the same problem. I wind up hitting the Windows key accidentally (almost always during a decisive moment in PvP) and minimizing GW. By the time I bring the GW window back up I'm usually eating grass.
What I did was to buy a Logitech G-15 gaming keyboard. (~ $100) It has (among other really nice gaming features) a slide switch which allows you to disable the Windows key in hardware right on the keyboard. I realize you are using a laptop, and the Logitech isn't exactly portable but, if your situation allows, this is a pretty sweet solution to a VERY annoying problem. Good luck.

John Haller provides registry keys to merge to disable the left, right or both keys and also to re-enable them.
If you know any programming languages you could write a launcher that disables both Windows keys, then lets you launch GW. When you close GW you would close the launcher and it would re-enable the keys.
