My ele is not giving out the damage that the skill says it will. For example i have 16 attribute pts to fire and i go and use infreno which states it will deal out 145 damage, when i use it on someone it deals something like 35ish, a number real low, Does anyone have any idea why it does that, when i use my fire staff by itself its says it should deal 11-22 damage and only deals 2 maybe 3 damage. Please if anyone knows why let me know.

Its the armor level of the enemies that you are fighting. That damage is based on an armor level of 60.

It's because you're dealing Fire damage, which is affected by armor. The 145 damage stated in the description is BEFORE armor is taken into account.

Indeed. Also, it depends on what you're fighting against. For example, Rangers have an armor bonus versus elemental damage and a number of enemies have damage reduction versus fire damage. (Destroyers, for example, are very fire-resistant)

Try it out on a level 1 . It should do about what it stated in the skill .

Go to isle of the nameless which is right next to temple of balth in the pvp part of the game and then test it out on the armour suits. You will soon notice what each ar does.

Also here is a link about armour rating and what it does
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Armor_%28rating%29

Another thing is, if you are an ele attacking a ranger, rangers have +30 armour against elemental damage. You can get runes to reduce the amount of elemental damage you take so you could use Stone striker ( http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Stone_Striker ) and then have full Geomancer Runes (Geomancer Armor +10 (vs. elemental damage)
Armor +10 (vs. Earth damage)

Nah, a level 1 will have much less than 60 armor, and you will end up doing much more damage than stated on the skill. You hit a level 20 caster, though, and the numbers should be just right, unless the monster type has a certain resistance (like fire vs. a Flame Djinn). Higher than level 20 should yield higher armor (and health), as well as other classes (as mentioned previously) like warrior and paragon having 80 (+16 shield), sins and dervishes with 70, and rangers with 70 + 15 vs. elemental.

Also keep in mind there are certain skills that ignore armor. All skills (except Lightbrigners Gaze which seems to be a typo) that say "target takes damage" is armor ignoring and will deal the specified damage. All skills that say, "you deal damage" are affected by armor.
