Make Your Prediction: The Favor Time

For the rest of the year, I'm predicting there will not be another Double Sunspear/Lightbringer Points weekend. With the favor time still over 20,000 minutes, I just find it highly unlikely we'll see that kind of weekend at least till the end of the year.

What do you think?

i think they will have them, just wont credit the favor. like the eotn event.

eotn faction titles don't effect favor, only legendary master of the north

they need to reset the favor back to 0. its getting rediculous... and i think it is contributing to the ever-constant fall of the ecto market.

Actually, Ectos have remained the same price for I can't remember how long, either 5.5K or 4.9K to buy. It's weird though how it's either one of those 2 values and never anything else until recently, I saw it 5K even and even 6K once not long ago.

but on topic, i highly doubt they will have another 2x SS LB event, unless they remove the title thing...

Eh, there really hasn't been much of a shift, and the reason why is obvious if you think about it.

Price at trader moves when things are bought or sold at the trader.

The ecto market is sufficiently liquid that there's just no reason to buy from or sell to the trader. Want to buy ecto in a hurry? Go to a major trade district and announce that you're buying at 4700 each (or 21/100k). Want to dump a bunch quickly? Go to that same district and announce that you're selling for 4500 each, or 22/100k.

At the right times of day, you can buy or sell a million gold worth of ectos in about an hour at a decent price.

Result: stable equilibrium, because market conditions drive stable expectations. It would take a major shock to the system to disturb it, in all likelihood. (See Hard Mode introduction and the epic ecto crash.)

There may be a minor oversupply problem resulting from the fact that more groups are going to UW right now to farm new items from the end chest, but that represents only a small proportion of the total supply of new ecto. I seriously doubt it will make a difference.

The serious used scrolls when favor was down in any event.

Yeah, they buy for 4k and sell to the merchant for 500g profit...come on don't be lazy and check the rare material guy before giving in to cheap buys.

as painful as that is, it'll probably be best for the consumers, especially since I no longer have time to play as much as i used to to farm my rare items.

Huh... we'll have favor for a good couple months. I doubt we'll have another weekend like this, but as the EotN rep point doesn't count via a maxed title counting for favor time, it's not the same thing.

I'm guess you are talking about how ectos are at a constant 5.5k at the trader, which was like that for.... about 8 mths BEFORE the favor system was changed, has not really changed at all since. ectos are not dropping or rising, & haven't for almost 2 yrs now. they are consistantly at the same price every day. But maybe if you actually looked up things like this instead assuming things, you would have known that.

a better question would be why is it still so high if you read these forums you get the idea that not many people like titles but the facts are rather at odds with these forums

there's probably a price minimum set on ectos just like other rare and common materials. some of the materials have hit their bottom prices for a long time now.

and as Martin Alvito said, there's probably very few people buying and selling at the merchant since better deals are to be had from other players. i've only bought materials from the merchant when i couldn't find someone selling it within 5 minutes of checking each major market city and that still only comes out to 1 or 2 times.

Does favor even matter anymore? Favor hasn't affected my access to FOW/UW for quite some time now. If we didn't have favor, I just grabbed a scroll and went. The FOW entrance scroll is actually cheaper than 1k now anyways, so I always use it.

Favor serves no point in the game any more and should be removed. Nobody actually likes title achievement spam.

I don't think a.net sets up events based on how much favor we have anymore. I agree with theraven. Favor doesn't matter anymore. A.net has basically "given up" on the concept all together. They don't care. The player base doesn't care. Weekend events will be set up independently of the favor situation.

Actually, when it isn't spam, I like the title achievement notices. Nice to know other people have felt my pain going for Legendary Guardian and whatnot.

Remember the scrolls!

Favor has no influence on the price of ecto's at all.
