For me the most difficult cap was [skill]Incendiary Arrows[/skill] from the only boss who carries it: Casses Flameweb. (Who does not always appear.)

It took me quite some attempts.

OoU brrr that one was a real pain... I haven't retried since, with the change it must be way easier.
The RoF elites were very annoying too, the 2 human bosses that walk around on the first island with a random spawn are very frustrating

it's easy to get in EotN if you have that.
I did Legendary skill hunter in my warrior, and I remember Maw (feast of corruption). And as said the RoF chain was annoying. Having to do missions there over and over just to get 1 elite at a time is boring, especially when that elite happens to be in the portal field in Hell's... sigh...

edit: didn't we already have a thread about this? and shouldn't the title be changed?

Prophecies elites are annoying, especially the ones in out-of-the-way places (I turned Sorrow's Furnace upside down looking for the Eviscerate boss once).

Good thing EotN made a lot of them (and elites from Factions and NF) easier to get now...

Not too hard of a fight but the spawn rate for this boss is the lowest of any in the game,Shared spawn points with 5 other bosses(this might have been patched sense i capped it) took me a month to get him to spawn for me.
Made me hate skill capping.
I'm pretty sure all 6 Tengu bosses spawn, though, even if the one you're after always seems to be the one you find last...

I've been doing skill caps and I'll vote with those on the prophecies bosses where 4 of 6 appear at any given time. You roll out into the area and kill one after another because they are in the way and the guy you need shows up on the fifth try. Any guaranteed spawn point is better. As long as they don't give an elite exclusive to Rotscale.

Capping in Mineral springs as a Ritualist is especially shitty. No fewer than 6 trips.

I'd say Proph was most annoying, with the random spawns and all, but I got that title in 3,4 days. Doing RoF, Abaddons Mouth, and zoning in and out of perditions rock was annoying as hell. But I found it fun ^^
Cantha and Elona were ridiculously easy xP Elona just had really long walks..and I'd get lost alot ><

Capping Life Stealth was a bitch though. I had to zone at least +15 times <<

For Proph capping (half way there on Ranger) I will probably cap those easier elites in other campaigns and if it fails, I won't be going to Ring of Fire any more (unless it's explorable) or Mineral Springs. Elite tome farming ftw.

Isn't he a boss-like foe?

I hate Tyrian caps the most, especially the South Shiverpeak ones. Mineral Springs actually isn't too bad once you make it to Granite Citadel... but some areas just drove me nuts. You run run run run through the various explorables just so you can make it there... only to find that you got unlucky. At least in Mineral Springs all the bosses are there >.>

When NF was all new and i was maxing out my skill hunter title this guy gave me many headaches
That place is much easier now, since stuff in that area has been changed
I know you can cap in other places that elite, but DAMN that guy sucked

this is an interesting point because from the stand point of pve that's super late game, and there is only the eotn to play after that point in time. but from a pvp standpoint it really dost matter because you can unlock it and start using it....

anywho my main response is to the fire island caps and Prophecies elites is that i for one think they should stretch out the elites ie make it so once you get to Lions arch after that point all the boss will have elites that you can cap. and then go back and make it so all the bosses have only spawn in one spot. this would do 3 things it would give a boost to players who have ch who arent at lvl 20. and secondly it would make more people want to play though that part of the game. and it would take the guess work out of elite caping.

Not to mention that putting elites in Maguuma might actually encourage people to go there...

And really, the "let's just toss an assload of elites on the fire island" thing was lousy design...

lul, funny because you guys havent been around long enough to know there used to be elites before the desert... I remember capping healing hands in kryta.
They later moved them to the desert on for a reason.

you know... I do believe that Anet have a counter profession spawn generator.

I had enough with RoF areas capping... So much that I think of that statement^

W/N, zoning, 2 closest spawn spots, E and Monk. Let it go, Progressed until 60% done with the mission, looked into another spawn spot, yay, a mesmer boss >.>

Progressed a bit more finally a Warrior! Now, just need one more cap to get 2 caps/run!

*later that time* mission 95%, last couple spawn spot = replaced by normal ver. of foe, one is Ranger.

didnt give up, do 4 more tries, progressed until 95% into the mission, on the 4th yield a long super unbelievable overdue cap!

Whoever thought of that randow spawning bosses, I congratulate you, bright idea! *holding something sharp in hand* x_x;

anyway, for me, all is in the past now..

Although that can get really annoying. The trip to them is short usually. Yes, Prophecies has the most annoying skills to cap. BUT, I found Xinrae's Weapon to be the hardest. Not because of the location, but because of all the mobs I had to fight *with oh so many patrols heading right at me while I was fighting*.

But, I think I just got lucky with the RoF spawns. All that can be capped elsewhere, I capped elsewhere, for those I had to cap, I just rezoned after looking at the closest spawn. It wasn't that annoying for me really.

Yeah I agree about the random spawning bosses in Prophecies. Their elites are the hardest to get, though ultimately they can be gotten easily, if he spawned. Fevered Dreams is the one that got to me, boss just wouldn't spawn.

RoF had me wanting to choke the developers. On Perdition Rock I fought my way to the coldstones bosses so many time it memorized the patrol patterns.

obsidian flesh was a bitch. you'd always zone, then you'd find out that he was on the other side of the patrol where you were.. and the cycle continued.

FoC was one of the most fun times i've had in the game. my buddy and i used henchies (this was pre heroes) and fought our way up there.

and yeah, using the signet while the boss used the skill was the most difficult part of it all. i think i capped one while the system was like that.. haha

Mineral springs anyone? The boss that you want to cap is ALWAYS the last one you find *sigh*
