Hello, hoping some of you who run GWx2 could help me out with a problem in running the GWx2 program.
Not new to running two copies, so the basics -
Have two separately named folders with two separate GW.exe's and two DAT files.
Installed GWx2 and assigned the paths for each .exe file.
Made sure to remove the .tmp file.
Both DAT files are up to date and current as of this posting.
Upon running GWx2, the original folder's version of GW will load and run perfectly fine, but the second version will not load and it gives me an error message of -
File Access Denied.
I am the sole user of the computer and have all administrator privileges, so not sure what the denial is about.
Also, running this on Vista currently, and before anyone says it doesn't work on Vista, yes, it does, there have been many users who successfully use it on Vista, just don't know what I am doing wrong.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Well, vista has lots of new security features, one of them is more than likely to be blocking that file access.
I don't own vista, but maybe there is some security options that you can fish through?

Did you minimize the game first? Sometimes you have to do that. But Ive not had that problem with Vista. seems odd as I know I gave you a good version of GWx2. What are the names of your 2 folders?

Anyway at OP: Make sure when you set your parameters that you set them exactly right, don't bother with password, you can type that in when you log-in.

Sometimes GWx2 seems to get mangled when you download it - if you check the previous GWx2 topic (a dozen threads down or so) you will see where Manitoba helped someone else with a dud copy
Access denied is rather odd - sounds more like a Vista over-zealous security thing rather than a GWx2.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
I had placed both GW folders under the Program Files directory.
As soon as I moved one folder out of there and onto a different directory GWx2 stopped giving me the Access Denied error message.
Thanks for the help everyone and yes, Manitoba, THANK YOU very much for the good working copy of the version.
