Guru is trying to open my list of trusted websites??!
Pandora's box
Today I'm getting warnings from my anti virusprogram when I visit the Guru discussion forums. It says that the website I'm visiting is trying to open my list of trusted websites. Whats going on??

Well... a list of trusted websites is usually something the user sets. So I really have no idea without more information.

I'm using McAffee and I did not setup a set of trusted or distrusted websites. The only thing I recognize is Mcaffee making a list of websites with blocked popups and Guru seems to be one of them. Mcaffee itself maintains a list of banned and trusted IP adresses.
So there is no list I personally maintain. Yet it happened 2 times this evening when McAffee informed me that the site I was visiting (GWGuru) tried to get access to the list of trusted internetsites, which is in fact a list of trusted IP adresses for allowing pop ups and other stuff. It asked me if I wanted to allow that (no).
Apperently McAffee found out that GWGuru was trying to access the list of trusted IP adresses. And allowing that would include to allow a way to alter them, which is a risk.

Incorrect, the site was just trying to access our ad server for a pop-under/pop-up it sounds like. There's nothing malicious, nor can we edit or alter your program settings. Were you logged in when this happened or logged out?

Its the latest windows update which warns you if the site you are visiting redirects you to a site on your list of trusted sites. It also happens when you click in the google list on a site which is part of your list of trusted sites. I think this is a mistake; it should only warn if the redirection brings you to a site on the list of blocked sites.
I was online when it happened. Not doing something special. First time I tried to read a forummessage, second time I was just reading the list of forum posts. Forgot what forum is was.
