In Hard mode situation:

A party has -60 DP and a mob kills off all members but one hero with Rebirth (disabled). This hero runs to a flag position well clear of the mob (rebirth still disabled).

Will this result in party defeat?

I'm almost sure this happend to me earlier.

Are you asking if this will happen, or did it happen to you? If the former it should be in the Q&A section, if the latter then I dunno why it is, but it shouldnt be happening.

I think his question really is does a disabled res on a Hero still count as a res.

If your party is dead save for a hero with res then you will not auto res at a shrine.

As for being kicked out of a Hard Mode zone, I would think that as long as a Hero is alive, regardless of his dp, you should still be kept in the map.

Some testing might be in order.

Vanquishing a zone in HM is basically like a Mission. In Missions certain conditions must be met or you automatically fail. Keep an NPC alive, don't let the enemy reach a goal, etc.

In HM, one of those conditions is that the entire party cannot have -60 DP. So if the surviving hero already had -60 DP and then everyone else died (thereby reaching the limit), despite the hero still being alive, you fail and are returned to the last town/outpost used.

Note that this can also occur with a player's character. If a player with -60 DP had survived in this same situation (with all other party members dying - bringing them all to -60 DP), the vanquishing attempt is a wipe as well.

My experience has been the exact opposite - provided this hero with -60 DP is still alive its NOT a wipe. It's only when everyone is dead and all have -60 DP that it's considered a wipe.

In the OP's situation the hero should (assumably) be able to res fallen teammates and the fight continue but Id use some form of consumable to lower that DP to increase the odds of success.

Even if everyone has 60 dp, so long as one member of the party is alive, res or no res (from my experience), you will not get kicked out. You won't be removed from the zone until the last man standing dies.

Same as henching, and the only one alive is a hench with no rez, you get rezed at shrine and live hench comes running or is left dead at the spot of the attack.

Full party reaches 60 DP and hero/hench alive with no rez=kicked

This actually happend to us during Rragar's Menageri dungeon, 3rd level.

Considering the diffrent answers I guess its time to test this with and without [reusable monk rez] disabled.

Normally if the last one standing is a non-player char without rez, they will be killed and its game over. However this time there was a monk hero with rez (though disabled) but it still got killed and party was returned to outpost.

Mmm yeah! Of course it would have been better to use some Powerstones or candy canes, or even better bring some properly prepared heroes.

Yes it does. I was vanquishing yesterday, and after a near wipe I sat staring at the screen for almost a minute, wondering why Tahlkora wouldn't res anyone, until it dawned on me that I'd disabled Rebirth because of her tendency to stop healing and start battlefield-ressing.
