Help, Im Stuck

I currently just bought guild wars from a friend of mine and am using his account. another friend of mine just bought a new eye of the north guild wars which is the same as me but the problem is when we logged into the game we could not see eachother. After searching high and low and even though we could add eachother to our friends list we could not add them to eachothers party or find eachother. than we noticed that our server ip's were different, does this have anything to do with my problem?

If I'm understanding this right;

If you're both in the same outpost (Example: the Eye of the North), then make sure you're both in the same District. Again, example, American-English-1. You can change your district with the blue drop down menu on your game interface.


If I've missed the entire point and misread, I apologise. I can always try again.


It is Sunday and I'm always slow on Sundays :P

also, if there is a new build that you need to download you have to restart gw first

Had this happen to me a with my friends son. My friend and i were waiting for him in borlis pass. He was telling us he was in the right district but we couldn't see him or add him. My friend went and checked his pc and sure enough he was in the same district but couldn't see us or see our chat. We got him restarted and he popped in without another issue. Strange but true.

If there was an update and the person didn't log out completely and then log back in, then you won't see eachother. It happened to me and a friend once. There was an update and I had logged out but didn't "X" out the log in screen. Once I did that and then logged back in we found eachother.
