Unclaimed Item Box Expansion

You're not supposed to be able to pick up drops you missed if you DP out of a zone/mission, iirc.
ogre_jd
I see the unclaimed items box all the time in Prophecies - specifically when I successfully complete a mission and the end boss and whatever horde he had dropped loot.
TaCktiX
You have to complete the mission successfully to get Unclaimed Items. If you get wiped out, why should you be allowed to pick up drops when you're dead on the ground?
jonnieboi05
yep. what everyone above me said. if you wipe, you get no loot. if you succedd, you get it.
in simple terms: if you get the boot, you get no loot. xD

it wuld be kinda stupid if there was an unclaimed box if u get a wipe

Would lead to too many abuseable farms on missions. No need to bring any defensive skills at all. Just bring a lot of offense, kill stuff in 1-5 second with a ton of firepower, and when you die and fail the mission, you get all the stuff from the farm.

/notsigned. There would be no penalty for death if this was ever implemented, and one of the points of any game is to at least TRY not to die...
ogre_jd
You died and failed the mission. Therefore you don't deserve rewards. It's that simple.
Ctb
I don't know how I feel about this. I'm leaning toward "if you can get ressed and pick up missed drops in an explorable area, why can't you pick them up from a failed mission too?". It's kind of illogical that you lose them in one circumstance and not the other.
If you're going to take the time to contribute nothing but an unsubstantiated opinion, you could at least have the decency to use something that might be confused for a modern language to do it.

So you want items for failing... ok...
I think Tender Wolf suggested the same thing once... I suspect this idea will get flamed as it was before.

A definite /notsigned on this one. Kind of goes back to the theory of "well, you gotta be alive to be able to pick up something..."

I am sorry that you did not get your black dye. I don't know how Glint's Challenge works as I have never bothered to try it. Keep in mind that the unclaimed items box never used to exist. Be happy that now if you complete the mission and didn't get your drops you now have that ability.
Also, could have sworn that the timer was 10 minutes.

Ok, now I must remind you:
"To the winners belong the spoils."
Now keep those words in mind.
When you die during a mission, you... somehow... go back a little in time to avoid death.
So you must win to get the loot.

Oh hai. I founds that thread.

/notsigned, if you wipe you don't deserve to get your drops
Stockholm
Bot's would love that they don't even have to stop and pick up the drops just keep going
genofreek
As others have said, it's open to abuse and frankly, if you all died, you haven't earn jack squat.

I don't know why Glint's is different. Frankly, I don't think it should be. Wipes mean you lose the drops, period.
But that's just me.

First i would absolutely KILL D-core farming, which I do on a daily basis, which is FUN, now that nearly everything is nerfed nowadays. On top of that it would drive up D-core prices.
Even if you got wiped, how pissed would you be if you worked hard got a nice gold item drop and then some random enemy kills you and you lose the gold. Not fair I say...

I can't tell you how many times I've been in UW with pugs and had an ecto drop for me during 4 horsemen and the pugs have screwed up and I wasn't able to retrieve it. If you're not good enough to stay alive to kill the foes, I see no reason that Anet should just hand your items to you. If things start going south, run and pick it up or risk losing it.
Allowing drops if you failed the mission is too abuseable. And I have read and I agree with Genofreek, I don't know why Glint's is different, but I think the same rules should apply.

B) You edited in and added the "Glint's Challenge question" after I had made my original post (so of course I couldn't answer then).
I do however have an answer.
All challenge missions have an unclaimed item box. They are programmed that way. Glint's challenge is different from other challenge missions in that it has an "end." All other challenge missions end when your team wipes. There is no way to "beat them." That is why unclaimed item boxes exist in challenge missions. A.net never bothered to change Glint's Challenge (since it is set up to run like any other challenge mission) and design it more like a mission area.

B the point that people were making for not signing was because they think no one deserve their drop when they die or get wiped so it matters not if you finish the mission. "That is why unclaimed item boxes exist in challenge missions. " so yes you got wiped because you can't hold the waves of monsters anymore and you managed to kill some right before you died how's that different from killing by the riders on chaos plane right after your ecto dropped? according to the "you need to be alive to pick up your drops", why should there be the unclaimed item box? |
You can not succeed. Thus you get an unclaimed item box because even if you "fail" you might have done extremely well.

Suck less, it's "just PvE," there should be no problem.

Yes glints is different, but... using your logic... lifes unfair....
EDIT: lol i forgot yes it is a challenge mission, and they are all liek that ty Hawk of Storms. Also a lot of this thread isn't really being flamed, its just heavily disagreed upon but some people. just accept our opinions.
MithranArkanere
Only challenges have claimed items boxes upon losing, but that's part of their mechanic. Glint's challenge it's a bit different, but it's still a challenge... although it behaviour it's more like a Dungeon, though.
