Hey does anyone other than me want to see shield mods with +45 while under the affects of a chant or shout and -2 damage while under a chant or shout.

It seems a good idea as there is conditional bonuses as +45 while in a stance or enchanded and so on....

Seems like paragons got left out a tiny bit

And anyone using a shield with under stance/enchantment mods on it is probably using a build that keeps him/her stanced or enchanted indefinitely...aside from removal skills.

To go with this, introduce skills that remove shouts or chants from a foe.

Yeah its a nice idea, however there are skills which prevent the use of shouts/chants and a skill that deals damage to foes using shouts/chants so its not win win already....

Overpowered since chant/shouts have no dirrect counters to be removed. You'd think a.net would have learned with weapon spells that unstripable buffs are a bad idea. But no, they had to introduce the paragon and imbalance the game forever.

What makes (some) shouts and chants overpowered is not their unstrippability but their unlimited stackability. A lot of subsequent hacks (eg. armor cap) have been introduced to address this fault.

Do you guys really think that -2 physical damage and +15 HP (usually they already have +30 HP on their shield) while under the efect of a shout will be so unbalancing to the game?
The main reason I want to see this type of inscription is beacuse Paragons don't have neither enchantments nor stances so if they want to fully use their shield they have to rely on their secondary profession.

How about a +5 HP for every shout and chant (maximum of +45)? It's quite rare to find 9+ shouts active at once.

It's too good. Your typical PvP gon would have Anthem of Flame and "Go For The Eyes!" on their bar. Any caster would never trigger Anthem of Flame, and only very rarely trigger "Go For The Eyes!" meaning you will always have the +45 health. Your typical PvE gon mashes the "Save Yourselves!" button or loads like 7 chants/shouts with a res so +45 health for them too.

Shouts and chants can't be removed, enchantments can. Stances are much more difficult to keep up non stop (without a gimped bar), and can also be removed.

It's a good idea, and it may seem "only fair" to the naked eye, but if you have one Paragon on your team, and he's not retarded, it would make every other shield mod obsolete/worthless.

Basically, it seems fair, but, it's really IMBA.

Read: any character who can take advantage of those shouts using a shield modded for that buff has a build that is self-sufficient.

I don't think anyone is going to take a shout-modded shield just because there's a para in the group...he's going to take it because he's got FGJ! or another long-duration shout/multiples in his skill bar. I'd love to have a -2/+45 under shout shield for running (I am the Strongest!)...but I have a stance modded shield for that.
