Did the effect of using Winter with Fire damage get nerfed?

A PUG member I was running with last night said that combining winter with a Fire Ele in Glint's wasn't going to work anymore because it got nerfed...

I admit I don't pay enough attention to all the skill postings, but I run a ranger, and I've used that combo a lot in the past...I am surprised I missed that...did anyone see a posting on GWicki about it?

It haven't worked in a long time.

I'll admit I haven't used that gimick in a while, but looking at the skill descriptor I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Don't see why it wouldn't work. Unless Glint is now a Ranger, thus gaining +30AL vs Elemental?

There's a little BUG note at the bottom of the page.

If i read this right, the immunity to fire will apply before the conversion to cold dmg is apply, therefore not boosting the dmg done.

Correct me if im wrong.

Hey, I've run with you in Glint's Challenge, I think...your name is familiar...but anyway, thank you for solving the puzzle for me, because I kept changing for notices that the skills had actually changed...and reading the skill descriptions thinking "I didn't see a change..." thought I'd lost my mind - which is possible.

But the bug notice you pointed out explains why, particularly in Glint's Challenge and the destroyer mobs, it isn't going to help. That is way different than arena net "nerfing" the effect though...which is how the PUG member had put it.

That would explain why it doesn't work in Ring of Fire either...

Maybe "forgetting" to fix the bug is a way of nerfing it.
