Friends [N] list improvements
Uumaleeheh
It has been suggested many times before, but I haven't seen any kind of official response to it. So here goes another attempt to bring this subject to light.
First off, here's a few links to previous threads on the subject,

Second, there's a lot of room for improvement on the current friends-system. But first off, I'd like to suggest a critical addition to the Guild [G] window:
* Improve it so that you can view the roster of your fellow alliance members.
(Why this? Because this will cut down the need to fill up your friends list with alliance members.)
Now as for desperately needed functions for the Friends [N] window:
* A way to sort the people on the list.
(Groups have been suggested, much like you already sort people by online, offline and ignored.)
* A way to add a descriptive word to each person on your friends list.
(To be able to add a nickname, a tag or something to more easily keep track of who's who on a long list.)
* Increase the limit to how many people you can add to your list.
(Rather self-explanatory, the current limit is rather harsh.)
* Change it so that the Friends-list work like the Templates, ie saved as .txt
(For easy off-line storage/edit of the list.)
There's much more in the threads above, but this short-list alone would make for a drastic improvement.
Surely there is some way to vastly improve this function without putting too much strain on the servers. I'd also like to hear from an official Anet-employee if we're just flogging a dead horse here, or if there's actually a will to improve this aspect of the game.
EDIT: Removed the threatening aspects of this post and thus the roosters are safe again

Agree with the Guild Window change, always a bother to spam alliance to see if someone is on in the alliance

OMG! Just to have your friendlist saved offline as a .txt file! Other suggestions are also great, but, your computer or game goes POOF! there goes all your friends!

Add this to your friend list suggestion list:
*Display length of time since last online, like the guild roster list
*Send a pm to offline contacts for them to receive when they get online
*Create folders to send friends to, being able to minimize them as needed

Adding the alliance roster at a minimum. I agree on the description of friends as well. I know that some people store the names of successful runners, people that buy ectos, decent PuG player, etc. (Not sure how many times I have been PMed by people for random reasons because I was on their friends list.)

A good compilation of everything that would be a great addition to the Friends List.

I would really like to see the description thing, where I can note where/when/how I met the person... I can't remember!!!
Thanks for bringing this topic up again!

I put people on my friends list, only to forget who they are 3 days later. Would be nice to sort out who they are.

With all these threads and request I just have to ask, "Why hasn't this been changed?"

What I want to see added
leaving a message for your friend. Only those that have added you as friend, this is to prevent getting spam. as it most definitely will, some people just send random massage! don't think I need to give you example of spam message, we all know what they look like.
/sign generally to make an improvement to the friend list.
