(Game account suspended) Unacceptable name

Hello so my account has been suspended for 70hrs. I log in and get this message your account has been suspended for using an unacceptable name which is a breach of the user agreement. So now I am wondering what is going to happen to my character that had the offensive name? Will it be deleted or will I be offered a name change? It is Britches And Hoses if your wondering.

Once the temp ban ends, you'll be given the option to change the name. The character and all of his/her items will remain unchanged.

Lol it's actually a viable name, but it's what it implies that got you banned.

As said above you will be offered a name change.

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with that name. Seems like you P/O'd someone in game and they took advantage of the report feature and the loose implications of your name.

No. If you'd actually get chosen for the CB, which is very unlikely, no offense. Only old players will probalby get chosen.

Actually I have 34 months on this account I started from WPE. So ya I just had taken a break and was playing WoW and started playing again.

It's stupid as I know someone (I won't say his name but it has two synonyms for "manparts" in it) who has played since Proph and still hasn't been attacked by ANet.

I've also seen a ridiculous amount of names relating to prostitution.

ANet likes to swoop down randomly methinks.

I know someone who had an offensive name, and he wanted to change it. Felt it was immature when he made it. A year goes by, never an option to change it. Finally, someone reports him, he gets a ban, comes back, and changes it.

Weird that ANet won't let you change an offensive name until someone is offended by it.

tell ya when gw2 comes out they will do away with names and just give us all numbers....
I see nothing wrong with your name, very creative (until you said where you got it)...but still......this reporting stuff has got to end. Seriously anyone can report anyone else for a name they dont like --even if there is nothing wrong with it.

So you got banned because the name sounds vaguely similar to Bitches and Hoes?!?

Wow. Yes, NCSoft support truly buggered up here. My condoleances. I can only assume that the NCSoft support staffer who banned you was not a native English speaker, and did not realize that "britches" and "hoses" are real, legitimate, English words.

Okay another question do you think I would get banned for the name Man Child if its not in use? Or should I stick with the names with Xx and all those fantasy names =/ so I don't get banned again?

Can't even think of anything remotely wrong with man child. Though I would think most if it, and anything close to it, are taken.

I got banned for an inappropriate name twice now. The first one was fair. But the second one was "Celly Peanutswoman". Apparently peanuts are offensive.

Also, I didn't get the chance to change name, nor was my character deleted the 2nd time. Kind of weird.

Personally I'm glad stupid @ssed names are being removed from the game.

lol i have the same problem i made a pvp character with the name of "death to mexicans" well at least i know my character wont get deleted.

If they do this, then why cant we change the names we like on our files now? There really is no harm in it. If it comes down to it, i may make ppl report me for inaprpriate name =D

Official reasoning is that demand would be too high for name changes, when it's an extremely difficult process for the programmers with the way GW was set up. They'd have to dedicate an entire team for just name changes.

Also, note that when you get a name change, customized things like weapon and armor... can't be recustomized. So you'd lose anything you'd had customized. At least, that's what I believe has been told.
