Hi there to all. Bought Guild wars rist instalment a few years ago but never played it. But due to recent ill health I have started this beautiful game a week ago and became stuck.

I am playing what you call the prophecies campaign.

I am looking for the henchman described in earlier threads, by the big stairs in Ascalon and I am pre searing (level one) as I decide to make a new character. I am a ranger, name is Tonja Dragonsbloob and definately a newbie to mmorpg games.

Please help?

There are no henchmen in pre-searing, just continue with the primary quests and you'll get them soon enough. If you need someone to do the quest beyond the wall, just ask in town and someone will eventually help.

Yea, what he said. Also, as a side note... if you find any BLACK DYE, dont believe someone that says its only worth 100g. I can't remember the going rate, it's been so long since I've been in pre-sear, but I believe you can make 6 platinum with it, or if all else fails, save for post sear and sell it.

Oh, and never sell it to a regular merchant. Sell it to a dye trader once you leave the tutorial stages.

If you need help, PM me through Guru and I'll arrange something. I'm rarely on Guild Wars, so your best bet is to get me through here.

Good advice all around. One of GW's short comings is the lack of built-in in-game help. Guildwiki and this site as well as befriending a knowledgable player are your best bet on learning all you can. As far as "leaving" pre-searing goes, you may want to wait until you are at least level 6 or so. If you join a guild and will have the aid of advanced players you can leave at a lower level and still manage. Keep in mind when you die in pre-searing you are not penalized. When you die in post and are resurrected, you lose a % of your maximum health and energy in increments of 15% (maxing out at 60%). It's called a death penalty or DP. DP can be removed by going back into an outpost/town or by successfully killing higher level foes without dying again yourself. There's more, lots more but the single best way to learn is just to PLAY! Good luck.

Many thanks and respect to you all.

I am sure I will be back on here soon as I am very new to mmorpg, so thanx for keeping me going as I was thinking of quitting.

Enjoy the game. This forum and the wiki are your best resorces. When you are in-game, just type /wiki and it will minimize the game screen and take you to the wiki.

Good fortune.

P.S. I suggest that you get Nightfall if possible...it is much better IMHO. Just how I feel.

You can also press F10 on your keyboard at any time during play to open up a Wiki search screen.

It's been over a month since the last post. How's it going so far Dragonbloob. (I like that name better too)
