Rq8 Caster Weapons?

So a lot of weapons that are r8 are worth more, which is understandable since they are rare. But what I don't understand is why caster weapons (swords, spears) with r8, +5 energy, +20% enchant or whatever are worth more than r13 ones. Shields I can see - investing a few points into tactics or whatever to get the +7/8 armor when you'll be using skills from that line to begin with makes sense. My question is - why does it matter that the weapon only requires 8 swordsmanship (or other attribute) when they won't be using it for damage?

r8's are rare. Exceedingly so.

That's all.

r8 with those inherent mods = name your price.

I guess the thing is it seems sort of a waste to give a caster a rare req. weapon, since supposedly a lower req can give higher damage overall. Seems like it'd be better on a warrior or paragon.

It's not that they need the low req is what I mean. It's just so rare people are willing to pay exhorbitant amounts of money to have one.

...Even though only they can see the requirement. Ah well, humans have failed me once again.

Well for one thing and something i think people are getting stupid about, putting +5 and 20% on a weapon does not automaiticaly make it a caster only weapon, people can still buy it and change the mods again you know.
And if its a req 8/9/10 desirable weapon whatever its always going to be worth more.

There's no reason for a melee to have a low req weapon either. Any warrior running 8 swordsmanship is stupid.

Some people would say that Warrior was the definition of stupid.

Please note that I run a Warrior and don't think that at all.

I know people that would rather spend 200E+ just to have a req 9 caster weapon over a req 13. Its stupid.

Umm, not customized = big "bank". If they need cash desparately they can sell it for a huge gain.

But personally I think caster weapons = just a waste of money. Perfect staffs and backline FTW!

Keep in mind that a warrior could USE a "caster" sword if he wanted to/had a build that required it.

"Caster" swords have either +5e or a high req. Warriors could effectively use the latter but not the former.

Warriors could use +5 energy weapons if/when they go Ursan, to increase the duration, since they will already do so much damage. But the +20% enchantment duration mod would be useless then.

Shrug... some wierd smite build for Shard of Orr or a conjure warrior? I mean, the situations are not common and it may not be "efficient" but it COULD be used.
