Change to Knockdown?

Hey, I was just thinking, and it seems like if any hit to the back of a moving foe is an autocrit why isnt any hit to a knocked down foe an autocrit? It seems like attacks should do more vrs knocked down foes or something... and autocrits seem like the way to go.

Knockdown is already very powerful, such a change would be a big boost to bars such as shockaxe. Really doesnt need the change.

I agree with this statement. Just because something should happen but doesn't, doesn't mean we should change it.

Its a good idea to me, but then knockdowns would have to be seriously reconsidered in terms of length and the cost of skills that can kd

i was saying that a vertical blow from hammer/axe would hurt so much more from a horizantal blow... just thought there should be more dmg because of that

Go ahead and buff knock down.. Then maybe we'll see monks using Balthazar's Pendulum!
But in all seriousness, knockdowns and hammers in general are fine, imo. A buff would send them over the edge, and you know every tool and his mother would roll a Warrior and go hammer to be with the kool kids. Until they nerf whatever IMBA build could come of the change, then they'd come here and complain thinking it was unfair... Annnnnd we're back to square one.

Knock downs are also interruptions. Interruptions are the most powerfull effect in GW.

To the reality argument: If you hit someone in the back, they don't see it coming. No chance to prepare yourself=high chance of critical wound.
If you are knocked down, you still have a chance to brace yourself, put up a defense, or raise your shield against the blow. Higher chance of defense=lower chance of crit.

Not that I'm opposed to looking for creative ways to add physics and "realism" to the game's mechanics, but in this case I do not think hitting a knocked down foe should automatically do anything more. Knock downs are already powerful. You've already pinned your foe to the ground for a few seconds, and there are already some skills that add extra damage or effects to knocked down foes.
