New Scroll Type?

I didn't see this suggestion anywhere, so here goes.

I happened to be farming raptors this morning, and it seemed like every time I would kill the Broodmother I would get an experience scroll of some sort. It occurred to me that I rarely if ever use these, as my Ele is sitting at 14 million experience. I think that many people are probably in the same boat and the majority of these scrolls end up getting merched.

I would like to see Asura, Norn, Ebon Vanguard, etc. scrolls. These would drop from bosses in the appropriate area and be specific to Asura, Norn, etc. points. They could be similar to the existing experience scrolls-i.e. Double Asura points for 10 mins, triple Asura points for 5 minutes unless a boss is killed, etc.

Personally, I think this would help make the title grind a little more bearable. Not a lot, but a little!

Feedback is welcome!

Thanks much.

I'm in the same situation. Experience scrolls get merched. I wouldn't mind seeing scrolls for GW:EN reputation.

Can't think of any downside, although I'm sure someone will come up with some 'negatives'.

I like it, it would eliminate a lot of the grind to get your armor, which is always a good thing.

I like the idea that U don't need to grind for weapons and armor, which is really annoing.

I like the idea.
I NEVER use the Exp scrolls couse i never had a need for it, Allways goes to merchant, no matter if they are rare or normal ones.

Allthough EotN allready has it "scroll" type of it's own with thoes blessing bonuses you get: +1 rep point, +200 rep points if you kill a boss.
I rather see them as scrolls to eliminate some of the Grinding like you all say. To use them whenever you want and need.

So the scrolls would be in favor of the professions who can solo farm some areas fast?

imo there is zero grind for armors in gwen. just look at it like end game armor, if you want it, beat the game and turn in your book. you will have r5

/signed - experience scrolls to get to level 20 faster are pretty useless in a game with such a low level cap. At least the scrolls suggested would have a good use.

Hm... I thought about something similar once.

But it was to make Kurzick/Luxon consumables. They would have all the common consumables (star, kit and res scroll) but their specialty would be an "Scroll of Vigilante Insight", once used, it would provide 30 minutes of double faction/promotion/reputation in PVE only from killing single monsters, but NOT doubling bonus rewards form quests, bosses, boss hunts, rampages, etc.

For example, a monster killed in hard mode would give 20 points instead of 10, a boss would give 20+non-doubled boss reward (10..250). Only the reward for creature killed (NM:5, HM:10) would be doubled.

The cost would be similar to the other 'specialty' consumables. 25..100 of one material, 25..100 or another and 250..1000 gold.

The farm titles....sunspear, lightbringer, norn, dwarven, asura, ebon. Are the easiest + fastest titles to reach max title ranking (excluding protector titles).

Rampage bonus, point reputation weekends + dungeon books already remove alot of the grind required.

None of you use scrolls? Wierd. I'm currently collecting em for Survivor chars i'm working on, so i keep any and all scrolls i acquire. But meh i'm not so sure about what you're suggesting, seems a bit like the environment effects like Rampage and Time Attack etc.

yeah, signed.. I was always the opinion, that the game has imo way to less scrolls...

There could be so manny new good Scrolls in the game:

Scrolls for Bonus Reputation Points for Asura,Norn ect. as stated ...

Scrolls for more points for other titles, like Wisdom & Treasure Hunter.

a Scroll for bigger Money Drops

a Scroll for increased retain chance for lockpicks

a scroll, which temporarely decreases the aggro circle or makes characters invisible for monsters

a scroll, which increases temporarely the explorement radius of characters for easier cartographing, so that not every dumb wall must be hugged for seconds...

a scroll that slightly increases temporarely the chance for gold drops out of chests (instead of usual purple stuff)

there should be a stronger version of the scroll of ressurection, which ressurects with 50% hp and 25% of energy nearby dead party members...
(Scroll of the Rising Phoenix)

and maybe some other buff effects in form of the eotn buff stuff...

for example:

Scroll of Warding: This Scroll will increase for 30 minutes the defense against elements by +20, will make immune against Burning and weaken Hex Degenerations by 2 Pips

Scroll of Defense: This Scroll will increase for 30 minutes the defense against physical damage by +20, will make immune against Weakness and iwll weaken Condition Degenerations like Poison by 2 pips.

Scroll of Sages: This Scroll will increase the Energy Regeneration for 30 minutes by +1, and whenever someone gets targeted by a spell from a foe or a party member, the one will reveive a HP heal in heigth of the tripple energy cost of the spells that has targeted the person.

Scroll of Energy: The Scroll will decrease for 30 minutes the Energy Cost of Skills by 2 and whenever a nearby foes uses a skill that needs energy, it wil receive double damage equal to the energy cost of the used skill.
-----

Those 4 Scrolls could have naturally also other names, to fit better to the other consumeable.

a set consists then for example out of:

1 Powerstone of Courage
1 Essence of Celerity
1 Armor of Salvation
1 Grail of Might
1 Soul of the Dragon (Scroll of Warding Effect)
1 Amulet of Wisdom (Scroll of Sages Effect)
1 Shield of Health (Scroll of Defense Effect)
1 Root of Yggdrasill (Scroll of Energy Effect)

Hmm, creation costs:

Soul of the Dragon : 1 SP, 250 Gold, 50 Scales & 50 Glittering Dust

Amulet of Wisdom: 1 SP, 250 Gold, 1 Ruby, 1 Saphire

Shield of Health: 1 SP, 250 Gold, 5 Steel Ingot, 5 Leather Square

Root of Yggdrasill: 1 SP, 250 Gold, 5 Spiritwood Plank, 75 Plant Fiber
----

Scroll of the Rising Phoenix: 1 SP, 1 Platin, 25 Feathers, 25 Wood Plank, 5 Rolls of Vellum.

But this won't happen anymore so or so XD All too late ...

Bounty Scrolls:
Give the user a random bounty benefit (boss bounty, rampage bonus etc.) just like they would get after 25 kills. Can only be used once per area. Same duration as the normal bonus. Drops from HM Dungeon chests only. Asura scroll from asura dungeon, Vanguard scroll from charr dungeon and so on. Drop rate should be around a 1:10 chance to keep people from farming the scrolls.

would be great for all rep point titles - sunspear, kurzick/luxon, asura, norn, vanguard, deldrimor, etc.... but it would make getting max easier and less special

I'm sure someone would complain one such scroll type also must be for Luxon, Kurzick, Sunspear and Lightbringer respectively.

Only someone playing with a single character. But most people have 4..6 characters.

Once you have ground the titles with one character, you always welcome not having to grind again with the rest.
