Banned Account..?

It starts like this.

2 Months ago, I reported this "guy" for personal reasons. In the report i mentioned my character called "Hiru Boobies", and I asked the GM if that name was inappropriate. I got an answer about the report, but the GM did not mention the name, so i thought it was fine. This was around 1 month ago.

Yesturday I get my account banned for 71 hours because of use of inappropriate name. And i know its because of "Hiru BOobies" because first, it was the character i was using when i got DceD. Second, my other characters are called:

-Tula Master
-Say No Too Scool
-Vampiric Hiru
-Mistress Hiru
-Countess Hiru
-Hiru Has A Staff
- I Hiru I
-Hiru Boobies.

In this list Hiru Boobies is the only name that COULD be tagged as inappropriate.

Bear in mind that the GW Chat does NOT block the word "boobies" from being read. And I got no problem by the name when i created my character.

So, fair? unfair? what can i do to get my account sooner, for I have a GvG Tournament planned tonight -,-"...

Boobies has no business being in your name. Someone reported it.

When your temp ban is up, change it to something with a little more maturity that a kindergarten student would think of.

Why would you call your character hiru boobies anyway ...
i dont say you diserve your ban , but you could had thought about a better name ...

And my character was called Hiru Boobies because rangers have small boobs and she's a ranger.

The point is BOOB or BOOBIES or BOOBFACE are not "bad words!"

think of it as a good thing. you get to change your name to something that isnt RETARDED.

A Booby is a seabird, looks a bit like a Gannet! Stands to reason that Boobies in nowt more than the plural, e.g. flock of Boobies.

Pedantic? Maybe it is, but ANet really need to sort out all this rubbish about banning names that aren't really offensive at all. Hell, I can't even call my pet Tiger Bagpuss because some jobsworth at ANet deems it "offensive"!

Anyway, "boobies" in this case is by the OP's admission in reference to breasts not to seabirds, and he'll get a temp ban after which he'll be allowed to change the name of his avatar to Hiro Nutsack. Big deal.

the game is for rated for 14 and older right? I find it kind of strange that the word boobies could be found offensive. If this would be a game that 6 year olds also play, and people don't want them learn those words so soon, I could understand. But it's rated for over 14, so what's the big deal? If he wants to call his character Hiru Boobies (I find it a really weird name btw), I don't think he should be banned for that.

I think the fact that he tried to address it previously should limit the ban, since the GM didn't do his job in full at that time when it was brought up!

Just the same, the name obviously needs to be changed as it could be construed as offensive. As for trying to get unbanned sooner, send a copy of your previous attempts to remedy the situation, along with your argument as to why you shouldn't be banned to the GMs and try to get them to release your account. That's about all you can do. GL!

What if the n----- word meant hello in german or something? would you still be allowed to use that name? NO YOU WOULDN'T.

First Gm you spoke with didn't find it offensive/didn't notice. Second GM(after someone reported you) did. Nothing fair or unfair about it. You get a time out and a name change. Misleading title ftl.

The EULA doesn't state "bad words!". It specifically states: (Bold is my edit)

In their sole discretion. Your name was offensive.

Ah yes, because Boobies is really that offensive isn't it? Go get a clue first!

I reported this to the Pope, and whoever reported you will get a 72 hour detour into hell when he dies
