When GW2 is released...

I like you people's point of views
I'm kind of a Scrooge McDuck when it comes to my gold though. I don't wanna let it go... :P
I think I'll transfer from GW1 to GW2 completely simply because I don't have enough space on my computer, neither do I have the time to play both. I just need one, good and reliable MMORPG to use on some of my free time with friends. I don't especially like playing MMORPGs, but I enjoy Guild Wars every now and then.
But yea, it would be rather unfair for people to migrate large amounts of gold to GW2. I wouldn't like other people to get an unfair advantage like that. I'm kinda poor X3
StormDragonZ: if I understand you correctly.. I don't think people will start "farming" titles (f.ex) in GW1 for the hall of monuments, if GW2 becomes popular. I think they'll be far more interested in the titles GW2 has to offer ^.^
I wonder if we'll see the same guilds gather in GW2 as they have in GW1

If GW2 comes out before I'm 30, most likely I'll move on to it. Currently GW1 is so boring and truly don't see myself staying long after 34 months of playing it. Once you've owned everything and done everything in this game you just want a fresh start.

I hope that GW2's HoM effects won't be too big.
I miss 2005, Prophecies, when everyone was new and helpful to each other, and nobody cared what build you had. They only wanted fun. They didn't care about victory or your attributes being perfect, because we were all new at the time and not perfectionists.
Now the game is the opposite. I am hoping GW2 will, at least, for a while, return those feelings of newness.

My friends and I don't like AT ALL the way these damn nerfs have been increasing. We are seriously considering not even getting GW 2 if they keep up this crap they are forcing on us now.
Different skill sets for PVE and PVP might however change things.

i for one am not going to act like a complete arse when the HOM rewards are announced. SO what if "they're not worth my effort", its only a game. They didnt have to give us anything at all for us playing the game. Im still going to play both.
Im going to go on gw1 and reward all my characters. ever since the start ive collected various items (factions i have over 500 monastry credits). I will use them up and all the ale ive collected since first starting.
Then on gw2 ill make an asura to inheirt monks stuff and try not to die o_0 (equivilant of sirviver tilte i hope). I will also try out pvp for once and make a charr. Depending on the slots i will make a sylvari.
A fresh start is best. Its gunna be hell the first few weeks with no one knowing what theyre doing. rare items, people getting scammed without knowing (dont worry though cuz you cant get scammed much money as no one has any).

one question will gw2 be good for new player or will the people with HoM still have an advantage
cuz i got like 5 friends to join gw2 but they wont join if its like WoW (start two years late and everyone is 100000x better then u)

I'm going to make a human necromancer called Zarich Zane who will then inherit all of my human necromancer, Zarich Zane's... err... whatever from the HoM. I'll do the same for Threnody, my elementalist. After that I'm gonna make me a badass Charr melee heroine. ZZ's the priority though, as always, and for the first month or so I won't play anything but ZZ so as I can hopefully get a head start on the market.

I'll try it.
If it runs in my system, I'll continue the trial period.
>If not, I'll get a new system and try again.
If I like what I see, I'll buy it.
>If not, I'll stick with GW1 until I get finally bored of it.

ahem.
I don't even know if I'll buy it. I've had a lot of fun in GW but I feel like I also lost a lot of time playing. I think I'll buy it and try not to become addicted

I wasn't going to buy GW:EN but I think I just might have to now :/ I think it really sucks that I won't be able to migrate things like money and good weapons ... anyway, what do you think? what are you going to do? |
What will i do? Buy a nice expensive 3rd year mini, a few sets of armor and some nice weapons for my current characters in the next few months and enjoy gw 1 with what i have currently!

Moving on, most likely. Unless it's horrible, in which case I'll probably just be quitting, because I'll almost be out of college by the time it's released and I may as well use it as an excuse to wean myself off of games a bit.
But, I'm hopeful.

My monk's HoM is full to the brim with weapons, armor, heroes, minis, and titles. After GW2 I'll be waiting just long enough to find out whether or not GW2 sucks. If it doesn't suck, I'll walk into it without a backward glance.
