Maximum Shadow Step Distance

What is the maximum shadow step distance? Or can someone point me to the thread?

I have used Shadow of Haste a couple times and Run out of compass by quite a ways from where it was activated. Shadow of Haste says it will step me back to where I activated, but I end up only going as far as the compass.

Maximum shadow stepping range is compass distance if the shadow step would have you cross uncrossable terrain

EDIT: Interesting, I always thought shadow step range was radar only. But the talk page on the wiki proves otherwise.

all skills that do not have a declared limit, are by default limited to the compass. shadow stepping skills, and others such as, heal party, Light of Deliverance, and maintained enchantments all end when the target is beyond the compass.

and dont forget that shadow stepping is not teleporting. its more like instantaneous walking.
