I haven't been satisfied with this build yet, was wondering if you had any ideas on how to make it better balanced.
14 (12, +1 hat, +1 minor rune) Mysticism, 12 Axe Mastery
Zealous axe with +15% damage while enchanted, +20% enchant duration
Shield with +45hp while enchanted, +10 armor vs. slashing
[skill]Avatar of Lyssa[/skill]
[skill]Eternal Aura[/skill]
[skill]Heart of Fury[/skill], [skill]Flurry[/skill], or [skill]Flail[/skill] (choice)
[skill]Dismember[/skill]
[skill]Cyclone Axe[/skill]
[skill]Whirlwind Attack[/skill]
Optional 1
Optional 2
Benefits of this build over using a scythe: faster attack speed under IAS using axe than scythe, you can continually hit ALL adjacent opponents with cyclone axe + whirlwind instead of just two with scythe, unconditional and spammable deep wound.
I prefer using Flurry of the IAS skills because HoF has downtime and casting time that get in the way too much imho and the adren condition on flail means you can't start using it right away. But, if you need enchants, HoF is obviously the way to go.
With the optional slots, sometimes I'll put attribute points into Earth Magic for self-heals (Vital Boon + Signet of Pious Light), or sometimes I'll use PvE skills like Great Dwarf Armor/I am the Strongest/etc.
Damage for this build is conditional: you need to fight opponents that use skills. In HM, skill activation is fast enough that you rarely get the +dmg from Lyssa.
I'd really like to use Lyssa, but right now this build feels quite lacking. Other than going to the radiant scythe/eremite build ... do you see any way to balance this build for HM??
Thanks!
PS - I like the look of my axe+shield in Lyssa form!
Help me balance this PvE build, please [D/W Lyssa]

scythes hit like 3 targets on the same attack, so why use axe?even with the faster attack speed, it's inferior to scythes in terms of aoe dmg
this is what i'd use:
[card]Avatar of Lyssa[/card][card]Eternal Aura[/card][card]Eremite's Attack[/card][card]Mystic Sweep[/card][card]Whirlwind Attack[/card][card]Heart of Fury[/card][card]Mystic Vigor[/card]or[card]Faithul Intervention[/card]

Scythe hits 2 adjacent to your target, while using Cyclone axe + Whirlwind attack hits EVERYTHING adjacent to your target. It's uncommon to have less than 3 targets clumped together, so the axe attacks let you do more damage at the same time.
Plus, the faster speed of the axe compared to the scythe lets you do 50% better single-target damage against monsters with skills with activation times.

From my point of view, Lyssa loses a ton of power in HM because monsters activate skills twice as fast as normal. However, if you still want to use Lyssa, go for it =D.
For the skills, I would reccomend [skill=text]Furious Axe[/skill] and [skill=text]Protector's Strike[/skill]. Furious Axe offers a nice chunk of damage while being moderately spammable and gives you some adrenaline when blocked (although I doubt that attacking a blocking foe would do much good >_>). Protector's Strike, despite having conditional bonus damage, is also a very good choice when used as an "interrupt" skill (it helps land an attack when an opponent's using a skill) and is also spammable. I would definitely say that Flurry shouldn't be your choice as an IAS, but Flail and Heart of Fury are good choices. Each has their own drawback though (Flail: less adrenaline gained and Heart of Fury: not up all the time) so the choice is up to you.

I'd really recommend against axe. With lyssa you want fast attacks, not aoe attacks. You lose cyclone axe, you gain a more powerful auto-aoe weapon, you keep whirlwind attack, and you get fast attacks.
CE Devilman
Flail . For 5 seconds, you attack 33% faster but move 33% slower.
good on a pve mob a scythes will start it fast and U can keep it up all the time.

like arkantos said i'd advise against the axe. you will do more damage, faster too, if you use a scythe since cyclone only goes up to what, +10?
but if you are determined then do as you wish
