Hey

Just thought I would ask some suggestions at what new character i should make and i want to make either a Derv, Rit or Sin. Never really played one of these and wondering which one is easiest to play and what armors look the best and weapons?

Anyway any suggestions are appreciated as I not sure

Derv = a heavy enchantment tank that can hit 3 guys at once.
Sin = squishy that wants to be a tank and can hit twice.
Rit = offensive or defensive spirit spamming, resto heal, big dmg.

I like my rit.

Dervs and Rits are more fun to play. Sins have to watch out for Afflicted Soul Explosion all the time...

Personally, I love my rit. It's one of my favorite professions in the game. At first it seemed slow and at times frustrating but once you get all the skills and a feel for the class I think you will enjoy it. They are also pretty good farmers.

Well I thoroughly enjoy all 3 of those professions.

Rit, my first prof, and one I hold dear. They're extremely versatile, with the ability to heal, buff allies and straight up inflict heavy damage through spirits and direct spells/attacks. A great choice if you want a go anywhere do anything caster.

Sin, an absolute joy to play once you get the hang of it. They dish out physical damage like no other but aren't the most durable guys out there. Playing an assassin is a fine balance of defense and offense (in PvE at least).

Derv, while slower than the sin dervs are without a doubt stirke for strike are the hardest hitting physical class. They're heavy on the enchants and it gives them suprising durability despite the low armor.

As far as styles each class has it's own style.

Rits; Mystic and mysterious, rit's have the most unique style of all prof imo. Almost gypsy-like, most rit armors feature extensive tattoo designs that are absolutely stunning. One thing's for sure, go with rit and you'll never be dis-satisfied with your armor choices.

Sins; One part ninja, one part special operative, assassins have a very easily identifyable visual look. Typically most assassin armors are either sleek and studded with knives and other deadly tools or they are highly ornate with sharp spikes and blades jutting from them. If you want to be a sleek dagger studded ninja or heavy metal fighter that would put Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to shame assassin apparel won't dissapoint.

Derv; Both holy and mysterious, dervish style is somewhat less striking than the others but no less unique and fitting. Typical dervish armor features a long (and often heavily armored) dress and a sometimes face concealing hood. The addition of the hood on dervish armors will often complete the "Grim Reaper" asthetic that's oh so fitting as your scythe rips through enemies.

With weapons the weapon of choice for Dervs is the scythe, Sins opt of a pair of daggers, and typically most rits carry standard caster weapons.

The scythe is the most devestating weapon in GW in it's own right, witht he highest max damage and the inherent ability to strike up to 3 foes at once you'll rarely find yourself dissatisfied with base attacks from this weapon.

Daggers on the other hand sit on the extreme opposite of the scythe, they have the lowest damage of any weapon in GW, however they do have the redeming ability to double strike, and dagger mastery features the cheapest highest bonus damage attacks in the game. In the hands of a skilled assassin daggers easily outperform most other weapons.

One interesting thing to consider is that Rits and Sins both have skills available to them that make wielding other weapons very attractive and effective, Way of the master easily boosts the critical (and subsequent damage) of non dagger weapons for assassins; while Spirit's Strength pushes any weapon a ritualist wields into the black, regular dagger attacks can deal upwards of 50 damage with the use of this enchantment.

Whew that got long fast. Anyways no matter what class you choose I'm sure you'll have a good time with them! They're all a blast to play, have fun!

For Derv, are there ways to counter enchantment strippers?

I guess there's stacking enchantments. Sometimes, enchantments ending can be helpful, since Mysticism will give back the dervish a certain amount of health and energy for each enchantment that ends.

If you want to protect your enchantments [skill]Vow of silence[/skill] can be very effective as well, it's in the derv lines so no extra speccing, just have to be careful how you use it (stops allied spells from targeting you as well as enemy ones)
