I am in need of one last title for PKM,and decided I should give explorer a try.
Which one is the easiest/fastest?
I have Cantha 85% and elona 82%(also Tyria @80% but I don't think that one will be very easy)
Ty in advance

I find Elona annoying because of the Remains of Sahljalar (sp) mission.

Cantha is moving quicker for me. Seen a few people get that one in a day with Texmod.

Tyria is the biggest with mission-specific areas, so that seems like it would take the longest amount of time.

So I'd go with Cantha probably.

Cantha is easiest by far.
However, even that requires that you get in to Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood, which in turn pretty much requires the help of your guild or that you team up with a bunch of other cartographers.

Oh, and do yourself a favor and get TexMod and Cantha Cartography Made Easy mod. It'll save you a ton of aggravation when it comes to finding the last 0.5% of the map.

ya i would say Cantha.
Tyria isn't really that hard because for the majority of the it the monsters a piece of p1ss so you can run passed them.
but just because you can run past them doesn't mean it won't take a long time to complete.

I just did Cantha with tex mod today for PKM. It is very easy, a bit tricky getting the last .5% or so, but I guess thats a given for all Cartographers.

I found Elona the easiest. Texmod seems to match it exactly. When the cloloured bit changes you know you have that area. I hit 100% in Cantha without mapping every single little bit (although it was only a tiny bit).

There are more than a few people who are stuck with 0.1% in Cantha because they don't have Jade Quarry. Factions has confusingly windy areas. Elona, for some reason, struck me as more interesting too. The only annoying part is the solo quest with the wurm. Just make sure you kill enemies outside a door of an area you haven't explored before the doors open. It should only take 4 runs or so. You can jump out of your wurm and into another one too.

Tyria took longer than the other two combined. Once you've done one, however, you'll probably end up doing all three. It's 4 titles after all and really doesn't take that long. Compared to say vanquishing mapping is a laugh.

I got cartographers in Cantha without doing more than getting the starting areas of Jade Quarry. There is enough wiggle room to not need it.

Fort Aspenwood is pretty easy to get into. It's only Jade Quarry that you need to coordinate with people to do. If still want it (or find you need it) and you don't have access to enough people in your guild/alliance/friends list there's a "looking for group" forum here to help with that.

Good luck.

I thought that elona was the easiest. Cantha was a pain when you got deep into luxon and kurzick territory. Prophecies was definately the hardest.

I found Elona the easiest. I ahve Elona at 98.1%, Cantha at 96% and am stuck. Tyria at 94%, but I know where I haven't explored yet.

Elona was easiest for me. I do not use textmod, so Tyria took forever. Elona I mapped as I progressed and did not have to revisit any area and got 100% only opening one door in Sahlajar. Cantha I had to do using U-map screenshots. I got stuck at 96% or so before I resorted to that, though. I did Cantha first, but found Elona to be easiest.

Elona was pretty easy for me. The Pac-Man mission wasn't hard for me at all.
Tyria was just as easy, but longer, of course. Funny enough Tyria was the only one I didn't have to keep checking my map for that elusive .5%.
Cantha wasn't too hard uncovering, but having to backtrack and find all those tiny, barely missed spots was a real pain. And it was the worst of the three for me. I also don't use Textmod so it may have been easier for others.

If I had to do it again with another character I'd start with Elona first.

If you're using textmod, Cantha is definitely the easiest, but if you're not, Cantha is a pain. All of those areas around KC don't stand out in the least.

No offense, but you haven't even begun the hard part yet. The last 1.5% are horrible, because it'll be corners too small to see on the overhead map. The last 0.1% will have you re-crawl the entire map. Unless you use TexMod.

Also people always talk about how much wiggle-room there is. I don't see where they get all that extra space; I'm grandmaster cartographer, and the only continent where I didn't need to uncover every last square millimeter of the TexMod map was Tyria. And that included areas which in principle are inaccessible, like Ruriks Path in the Frostgate mission and the bugged area inside that northeastern town in Cantha.

Cantha is honestly the easiest (Legendary Cartographer :P) Mostly because Elona is alot of ''portal hugging'' (Having to reveal spots RIGHT next to a portal) And tyria is tediously big.

I may have only found Elona easier because I did Cantha first. I was advised to do Cantha first by guildies who had done Elona first. The may be the same in difficulty level, it just depends which you do first. You learn a lot by mapping, believe it or not. It is bizarrely addictive, too. If you do one you'll probbaly do more.

Elona was easiest for me.

It's smaller than Tyria.
Every area is easily accessible, unlike Cantha (Jade Quarry - bleck!) and Tyria (go-go Necrotic Traversal!).
And the devs finally stopped making so damn many patches that you can only uncover if you wedge yourself sideways into one particular crevice in the wall walking backwards at an exactly 13.68 degree angle. (Tyria and Cantha are loaded with them.)

Dont forget that cantha has the eradon terrace bug for a good few .1%

to do it go outside eradon terrace with a shadowstep to ally skill (like [skill]Return[/skill]

lure the foes to the shire so they chase the merch off, he should run past the portal

shadowstep to him

then you can explore the area in the outpost, but better yet go through the gate (just walk through it)

go across the bridge and then you can actually walk on the mountain....good glitch that

oh and you cant use h/h when doing it

If you need me to show you feel free to PM me

the only problem i find with Cantha is Jade Quarry. It is one of those abandoned pvp arenas that is hard to find a group for you to access it.

From what i found out, cantha has the most leeway if you scrape the walls thoroughly.

I didn't have to map the area where the statue of Kormir is in the chantry of secrets and i didn't need to map the dynastic tombs completely either. (probably around .2% i could get in those areas but already at 100%)

in cantha, i was lucky enough to find a team to map the jade quarry and i ended up at 100% without the areas inside fort aspenwood i only maped the towns. Once again, i scraped toroughly.

I did elona first then cantha. I dodn't use texmod either and i got my 100% without revisiting any areas.

So my advice would be cantha.

Also vanquisher combines well with cartographer.

Elona is the easiest. I got 100% just from exploring while doing quests and missions without using textmod. I also never had to go back to an area for additional %, after I explored the last area I got 100%, Elona could not be any easier.

Cantha has the least amount of room for error when exploring IMO. I actually got 100% without Jade Quarry, but I'm pretty precise.

I found Elona to be the easiest continent as the regions in it are clearly defined and there aren't many 'hidden trails' at the edges. Then I got Cantha, and finally Tyria which has lots of the edge trails and also regions that aren't directly accessible from an outpost.

I kept track of which regions I had done by taking jpg images of the maps from fansites and just painting over the regions as I completed them in photoshop. This was before the texmod stuff became available.

And for those unable to get the PvP arena regions explored in Cantha because of lack of players there, there are threads in the forum "Cantha Explorers League" that organise exploring trips. I very much doubt ANet will make these regions explorable directly from the outposts.

I have done a lot of exploring and have found Elona to be the easiest, next is Cantha and last is Tyria (the Shiverpeaks and mission explorables are a pain).

Elona was the fastest and easiest for me. Tyria was easy but long. Cantha was a pain because of jade quarry and monastery outlook.
