disconnects are killing me

Had a really frustrating weekend playing GW - had unusually large number of disconnects, and even one crash. Some, I was able to reconnect, but many were of the "error 007" variety, where I had no chance.

What's frustrating is that in once I got disconnected just before the end. By the time I reconnected, the countdown timer had already reached 5 seconds, and I had no time to get to the end-chest. Another time, I PUG'ed with a nice group for close to an hour, only to get a disconnect (error 007) just before the final boss! Talk about frustrating after so much time and effort.

I know disconnects happen, but it just seems that I got an unusual amount this weekend.

Question is, is there more Anet can do to restore lost connections? Even if there are network issues, I don't see why GW should not be able to reconnect after a catastrophic (007) error.

Same here, unusual amount of err7 and bad connection throughout the weekend.

Horrible lagspikes from time to time and I know it's not me since everyone I played with this weekend complained of the same lag.

No lag or connection problems here, played on US and Euro servers.

So it wasn't just me. Everyone around me was complaining about bad lag. But I was spiking up to 3000 average ping. Normally I'm barely above 100.

Very odd. Usually when there is lag, I get the worst part of it. This weekend has been fine for me though. No lag or DCs at all.

Yeah this weekend I lost a 720k xp survivor to an 007, and all but gave up farming drops because before I'd managed to kill anything I'd d/c. Frustrating, but I guess that's what happens when practically every active GW player logs on at the same time.

If this keeps up, I will quit playing GW for sure.

yeh i just got 007 too, but i got banned instead, for rest of the event, o well

on the note of lag, i've only error 7'ed once but that's b/c my modem decided to take a poop on it's self and just completely drop a connection to the inter/n. other than that, nothing at all.

For me, no lag issues, but I'm getting disconnected like clockwork about once every couple hours - and of course as you all know, it always happens at the best times (like when you're running or solo farming, lol). Dunno if there's anything thats responsible from "my" end, but if you have any recommendations, please let me know.

that really sucks but i had a really bad laggy weekend i was on my way to teh end of fow chest and tehn i laged out with 007 -.- its been happening a lot i just hope they can fix it

its usually these type of weekends people get lagged, maybe cause servers are busy/flooded

I used to blame anet for my disconnects but started noticing it was coming from my end. Try opening internet explorer or run an online bandwidth test. Plenty of times rebooting my modem works to fix lag.

Strange because its been the exact opposite for me.I haven't been able to play for over 2 weeks now because of bad pings.I've been getting constant pings of 3 to 10 SECONDS even as bad as 30 seconds but this weekend its been fine.Monday morning and its back with error 007's straight away.Everything else is ok,counterstrike pings ok been doing a Lineage 2 trial and thats ok its just Guild Wars.I've sent an email to my isp,Demon,to see if there's a routing issue with Guild Wars but as expected no reply.Gonna send a networkdiag to support see they can see anything but i doubt ill get a reply from them either.

GW disconnects me all the time. My actual connection rarely drops though (wireless)

This week I did get a few disconnects (007) and the "connecting" windows appearing for a long time after logging in.

My entire alliance has been complaining about lag for about two weeks now, it just came out of nowhere

The other day I actually got kicked out of GW(lost connection during THK HM) which has NEVER happened for the 7 months i've played and i've also heard stories about people who never lose connection have had it happen frequently now ever since the recent updates
