My elementalist is quite partial to a Fiery Gladius which is what an ele sword should have looked like, but she's got a spear as well. Different weapons for different purposes, and as said take whatever fits your style.

a req 7 is something no one in the party will know. a crystalline can be copied out at the pre searing long sword reward. but a voltaic spear dyed black, there's no faking that.

I don't like crystallines, so I'd have to go with the voltaic.
If I had both, I'd probably sell them and buy a Runic blade, since they look pretty cool. Or Greater Guardian Spear, as Witchblade said. But that's just me.

If you are heart-set on one of the two 1337 skins, then I would say go for Voltaic.
However, I might suggest skins such as katana, broadsword, runic blade, gothic dual, Violet, Cerulean, and Emerald Edges. The new obsidian blade looks quite nice. So many choices, so few character slots...

Well, my current Monk Caster is a Greater Dark Scimitar modded, 20%, +5e, etc etc.
My Dervish's running gear is a Fiery Gladus +5e 20%, and a fancy pantsy shield.
I would really like a caster Katana, or a caster Broadsword. (Hah, I have expensive tastes. D: )
Course, I also dig the Chaos Axe (who doesn't??), and the Runic Axe. But really, no other skin I really fancy as a caster weapon.

In my opinion a Shinobi Blade is the best looking caster weapon.
But from the choices given; Voltaic. Unless you can get your hands on that uninscribable +5e r13 Crystalline :P

the +5 energy isn't really needed down there and it goes well with my blue Krytan armour...

I like spears really on casters you have ranged attacks to interupt pesky trappers and what you lose in [skill]deadly riposte[/skill] you can make up for in [skill]shield bash[/skill] so I would go with voltaic too I guess if it really is a choice between the two.

well my ive pretty much had all of the above lol but atm i got a q9 emerald blade and ammy aegis 
which looks pretty tight but thats just my personal opinion also pyro axe's voltiac's and i liked tormented sword and axe also for nice looking caster weapons
