warning! noob question about quests
chef_koo
when you first start the game and make your character, should you do all the quests before you jump forward 2 years to old ascalon?
GWEXTREEMFAN
depends what you are aiming to do
if you only want to go to old ascalon and get a run to droks i only would do the second profession quest and get out of pre sear
if you are planning on doing the campaign how it's supposed to be done (without rushing) i would do quests untill you are lvl 8 or so to give you a semi good start in old ascalon
if you are aiming LDoA do it as guide tells you because personally i've never wasted my time on that one http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Defender_of_Ascalon

If this is your first time through, take your time and play through all the quests. You'll enjoy it a whole lot more.

Keep doing quests, especially the ones that give you free skills. If you go through the Searing without getting all available skills for both of your professions for free, you'll have to buy them, with both cash and skill points. For the same reason, I wouldn't recommend rushing out of post-Searing Ascalon either - unless you plan to get a run for better armor and then come back for the free skill quests.

Actualy, almost all skills are available in Post-Searing quests too around Old Ascalon.
I suggest doing quests intersperced with some combat. If you get yourself up to level 3-4 before you start doing quests, you get more out of combat (as you don't get as much XP as you advance). If you don't do any quests till you're level 6-7, you'll get up to level 8-9 simply by doing the quests from there.
