Drop Rates: Nuking vs. 1-0n-1 Killing
Kiragi Yagami
Ok, this is less of a question and more of a discussion topic.
after viewing the "number of bunnies/eggs you got this weekend" thread, i noticed people talking about how some of them got better drops if they killed off all the enemies withing a span of 2 seconds, (raptor nuking) and some got better drops when they killed them off one by one, slowly. (Glints VwK farm)
my question is, have you had better drops when killing foes all quickly, or when one-by-one-ing it? (an example of 1v1-ing is the dervish AoB smite farm, whacking with your scythe till theyre all dead)

Whenever I farm the UW, I do it without looking, and whatever drops I get are a surprise! :O
That way, I don't come up with stupid ass conspiracy theories about drop rates, I just find ectospasms in my inventory!

One by one, definitely. Hit all the charr in nolani with barrage a few times, I get 3 or so drops maybe. Kill them individually, and the drop rate goes up quite a bit.
Sir Pandra Pierva
shouldn't this be in the farming section?
1v1 for me seems to get better drops in heavily farmed areas but in lesser farmed places it doesn't seem to matter

No suprises here, the rate of kill bug/nerf is well established and proven.

But in my experience you get more 1 vs 1 than mass kill. I just don't have the patience for the 1 vs 1 killing spree.

I made a thread like this one like 2-3 days ago.. There we came to the conclusion that no-one really knows if it's better 1-1 than nuking em to peices all at once. But from my own experience, I thinks it's better to take 'em down 1-1 rather than nuking them to smitereens.
Just what I think, you guys may have other experiences and such

I use a non-wiki build to farm HM raptor and with Sliver armor I kill them one by one. I seem to get more drops like that. Not fact, it just seems that way.

Since I also have an use for the Exp, killing all in one shot is better for me.

There is a thread that proves that the drops are identical...and I mean literally identical.
Can't be bothered to find it, so go forth children, and search.

I don't know if this is related to what you are talking about.

Look at the Bug notice at the bottom of the page. Not like it is official or anything...I could add that if you kill 50 charr at once they drop a chainsaw. Doesn't mean that it is true.
Edit: Found the thread...was on the very front page of the farming section....

Because anybody can edit it? The Devs didn't add that there was a bug, a normal player just added that, thinking there is a bug. Look at the talk page, they didn't even reply and show proof, they just put it there.
Edit: Look at history, an anon added it today, not long ago.

Did you not know that loot scaling doesn't have an effect if you kill one-by-one? (well, technically it does as that's slower than mass rapage).
Old news.

Look at the Bug notice at the bottom of the page. Not that I disagree with the bug comment, but it doesn't have much credibility when its added a few hours ago from an anonymous poster who doesn't spell check his entry!

The answer is in the quote "I could add that if you kill 50 charr at once they drop a chainsaw. Doesn't mean that it is true."

Anyways, that thread that was posted earlier seems to be the only hard evidence that loot "scaling" is or is not random. I would have to trust that as pretty much the only credible experimental data.

This was answered really rather wel by that "SoJ. vs. SV. Drop Rates" thread. Or something like that, apparently it doesn't make any difference,
Xavier Eledhwen
It is all the same for me, I am cursed so my drop rate just stinks at best
