I have had these ideas for some time now, and from what I am seeing GW2 will not be release on shelf till 2009 so that leaves a good years gap between GW:EN and GW2 with nothing but doing what we all have already done. For those veteran players who know what Im talking about youll find these next few ideas to be quite ideal, and for those who have only started playing in the last year these possibilities offer great rewards to your characters as well.
As most of us know titles are a great way to show off what we have done with our time in GW, they tell people where we have been what we have done and how experienced we are in some areas. Most people in TOA wont take a person on an Ursan FoW or UW HM run unless they can show a Rank 10 Slayer of All Title. And lets all face it the fact that we love to flaunt our best titles around town. You know you love it when someone comes up to you and asks how you got it or gives you a complement on achieving such greatness :P
But some of these titles are not obtainable to all characters. Those who have been playing since Beta know what I'm talking about. The Survivor Title and Defender of Ascalon Title are currently out of reach for those players who have a character that dates before these titles were ever introduced thus making it unobtainable. No veteran player wants to delete a character almost 3 years old especially with the new minis coming out in the next few months for those with their 3rd Year B-Day coming. And honestly no player should ever have to do that. So some of my next few ideas offer those old school characters to attain other titles, and they will not be just for those veterans but for new players as well. No one likes being left out of the fun. If any of these title have been mentioned in the past then I am only voicing the popularity and possibly adding my own views to it.
So without further ado I give you 4 possible new titles.
Skill Seeker Title
Time Title
Experience Title
Death Title
Skill Seeker Title:
This title came to me when the Skill Hunter Title was released. It resembles the Skill Hunter Title in many ways but has nothing to do with Elite skills. Instead it is the regular skills implied. Every Campaign has a certain amount of skills some of with replicate others or even are availible in more then one campaign (Core Skills). So what I have done is offer 3 max title one for each campaign as well as another title which represents all campaigns. Each campaign also includes core skills as it did in the Skill Hunter Title.
Tyrian Skill Seeker (365 non-elite skills obtainable)
Canthan Skill Seeker (451 non-elite skills obtainable)
Elonian Skill Seeker (451 non-elite skills obtainable)
Legendary Skill Seeker (all 3 Campaign Skill Seeker Titles obtained)
Now for some reason the GW designers decided to make Lightbringer Signet (PvE only Elite NF skill) a part of the Skill Hunter Title track which makes it so that PvP only characters cannot attain it. I have no sway on weather to add or not add PvE only skills into the equation but I do believe that all characters should be able to obtain this new title.
Time Title:
This title came to me recently and offers an idea not unlike that of the drunkard title and other timed titles. The principle of this title is the amount of time or the age of the character if you will that determines what rank you are at in the title. I would suggest the age part be taken into consideration rather then how much time you have played the game as it would make an excellent title for those characters who pre-dated the Survivor Title Track. The titles rank would go as follows and remain humorous as some other titles do, if you have any ideas on rank names please feel free to offer:
Rank 0
0-2 months old (not a showable title)
Rank 1
3-6 months old
Newbie
Rank 2
7-11 months old
Teenie Bopper
Rank 3
12-18 months old
Quick Learner
Rank 4
19-26 months old
Rising Star
Rank 5
27-35 months old
Veteran
Rank 6
36+ months old
Grandfather Time
Rank 6 will of course be the max title and is only obtained by having a character that is 3 years old.
Experience Title:
This title involves the amount of experience that the character has over that character whole life. You can see this amount buy hitting H. It is a very simple title almost like the Survivor title but it does not depend on you living or dying. The ranks would go as follows:
Rank 0
0-199,999 exp (not a showable title)
Rank 1
200,000-499,999 exp
Clue-less
Rank 2
500,000-999,999 exp
Compass Challenged
Rank 3
1,000,000-2,999,999 exp
I Know Something You Don't Know
Rank 4
3,000,000-7,999,999 exp
Mind Over Matter
Rank 5
8,000,000-14,999,999 exp
Knowledge Is Power
Rank 6
15,000,000+ exp
Rocket Scientist
Rank 6 of course would be the maxed title only obtained by reaching 15 million experience points.
This last Title was introduced to me by a friend I dont completely agree with it as it can be exploited.
Death Title:
This title is almost the opposite of the Survivor Title. It intails the amount of time you have died in the game. You can see this amount by typing /deaths in your chat bar. I dont fully agree with this title because it can be easily done by simply leaving your computer on over night and standing on a res shrine with a mob and dying over and over again. With this being considered I have raised the bar on how many times you must die in order to achieve ranks and maxing this title out. The ranks go as follows:
Rank 0
0-99 deaths (not a showable title)
Rank 1
100-499 deaths
Crash Test Dummy
Rank 2
500-1,499 deaths
Punching Bag
Rank 3
1,500-3,999 deaths
Dirt Nap
Rank 4
4,000-6,999 deaths
No Pain, No Gain
Rank 5
7,000-9.999 deaths
Dead And Loving It
Rank 6
10,000+ deaths
Death's Advocate
Rank 6 of course would be the final title and mazed out title for the Death Title Track.
I hope you all find this to be quite entertaining and maybe someday we will all see a few of these title introduced into the game. Have a great day.
