Display game time and a local time clock.

How about displaying a local time (machine's clock) and game time (server's clock) in the bottom right corner. This would be quite nice when waiting for festivals and such.

Not a bad idea, as long as you can hide it too. Server time should be GMT time though.

This has been suggested every now and then, especially around festivals.

Nonetheless, I have to say it's probably one of the handiest ideas I've ever seen for the game.

Wow... thats great. It even shows the Anet time for the festivals... Oh. Wait it doesnt.

/signed

Its a great idea, and should not be too hard to add to the game (could be only Anet time is sent and you have to set your local time for your client to calculate itself).

Yes, maybe pop it in guild menu or hero menu, and at start up so that you can work out what time events etc are happening.

I was pretty shocked when I first typed /time ingame and nothing happened. It seems like such an obvious thing to have! Even if it only returned gmt and not local time, I'd find it very useful.

Use Xfire's in-game clock.

It would be really nice to have a server time and a local time in the IP/FPS/Latency popup.

Hover the mouse cursor over the green led, and you get that.
Playing windowed, maximizing it's a bit annoying.

How about server time be maybe lets say Pacific time, since that is what all the anouncements are based off of. Either that or switch both to GMT. Since Anet gets to choose, and they are currently using pacific for everything, I would plan on that.

Would be nice to have some server time showing on the screen though to give a time reference to people.

Not all. Euro English ones are set in GMT, Spanish in GMT+1, and so on. It would be better to have both. Server time and local time.

Yep, when you open up Xfire in-game, you'll see the time at the top right of your screen. There's a little thumb-tack looking icon next to it, clicking that will 'tack' the time to your game window.

But that requires installing X-Fire, like using external watches or clock requires to have them.

In-game clock won't even require to Alt-Tab.

It's like diresctsong music. It do not require you to have anything but the... eh... Media player 9 or more installed...

Hm... I still want it.

It would be nice if the interface had a checkbox to show/hide some sort of 'Count-down to in-game festival/event/etc' though. Have it automatically display to begin with, and give us the option to hide it later, that way when festival time comes around, players might not find the need to ask 'What time does Mad King Thorn show up? Has Halloween started yet? How much longer til I get my hat? Did I miss it??' :P

It's not a memory hog in the least bit. If it was, not as many gamers would use it.. especially when you actually see what some of these kids are running for systems. It's a sad sight to say the least.

I do think a built-in clock would be very helpful. But, don't get your hopes up.. Xfire really is probably the best bet for a built-in clock. I don't think A-Net is too concerned with adding much more to the game.

how much ram are you running? lol, xfire uses as much memory as ts or vent, and do you really need a messanger/internet window open while you play, hell if you really want a freaking clock BUY ONE AND PUT IT ON YOUR DESK....instead of making pointless threads/agreeing, ALSO you could freaking play in windowed mode, they wont make new stuff for GW, so please stop asking
