Display game time and a local time clock.
VinnyRidira
How about displaying a local time (machine's clock) and game time (server's clock) in the bottom right corner. This would be quite nice when waiting for festivals and such.
Bront
Not a bad idea, as long as you can hide it too. Server time should be GMT time though.

This has been suggested every now and then, especially around festivals.
Nonetheless, I have to say it's probably one of the handiest ideas I've ever seen for the game.

Its a great idea, and should not be too hard to add to the game (could be only Anet time is sent and you have to set your local time for your client to calculate itself).
Luminarus
Yes, maybe pop it in guild menu or hero menu, and at start up so that you can work out what time events etc are happening.

I was pretty shocked when I first typed /time ingame and nothing happened. It seems like such an obvious thing to have! Even if it only returned gmt and not local time, I'd find it very useful.

I rarely look at clocks while playing... perhaps that is a problem

Anyway, yes, a /time command would be really useful.

Use Xfire's in-game clock.
MithranArkanere
It would be really nice to have a server time and a local time in the IP/FPS/Latency popup.
Hover the mouse cursor over the green led, and you get that.
Playing windowed, maximizing it's a bit annoying.

Would be nice to have some server time showing on the screen though to give a time reference to people.

But that requires installing X-Fire, like using external watches or clock requires to have them.
In-game clock won't even require to Alt-Tab.
It's like diresctsong music. It do not require you to have anything but the... eh... Media player 9 or more installed...
Hm... I still want it.

It would be nice if the interface had a checkbox to show/hide some sort of 'Count-down to in-game festival/event/etc' though. Have it automatically display to begin with, and give us the option to hide it later, that way when festival time comes around, players might not find the need to ask 'What time does Mad King Thorn show up? Has Halloween started yet? How much longer til I get my hat? Did I miss it??' :P

I do think a built-in clock would be very helpful. But, don't get your hopes up.. Xfire really is probably the best bet for a built-in clock. I don't think A-Net is too concerned with adding much more to the game.

would be nice to keep track of the real world while ingame without having to alt-tab or get up (as unlikely as that is)
