A lil Help
Terrokian
Well I noticed all the comments and suggestions on the AI Healer topic and thought that I've been feeling I'm not getting enough out of my monk either. So here's my team.At the moment I have been playing 3 months so far.I have all the expacs plus core.So far I have completed Pophecies and am working on EotN.I did "pop in" to Factions and Nightfall, but nothing more. The main idea was to have two tanks with two backups.Throw in some henchies and solo away.

The reason all the heroes have Resurrect is cause Henchies seem to die a little to often.
Now I thought as an added thing mention my healers gear in case that's where my mistake lies.
Any advice help here would be greatly apreciated. To me it seems if my monk had more energy things would be better. But maybe I'm on the wrong tactic here.

-ok for the resses.. ressurect is the WORST res you could possibly ever use. use signets, maybe rebirth on your barrage.
-use a MM instead of one of your "tanks", because a meatwall body blocks while dealing lots of damage.
-id take out your evis, dragon slash is much more effective in pve imo (and btw they are warriors, not tanks and HERO WARRIORS FAIL, FAIL AT TANKING)
-use a broad head arrow+epidemic+volley ranger instead of barrage
-i have never seen ppl post pics of 5 lines of text so large in your pics. size em down.
-dismiss condition+cure hex is probably the way you should go
-your eviscerate build is rather horrid, i'm sorry (axe rake, warriors cunning, axe twist=BADNESS) axes are more for spike damage, id try to take the dragonslash instead if you don't mind cappin the skills.
-equip- gj sticking with minors, but HP is more important than energy. (monks in pve can use radiants but i still stick with survivors personally) don't use anchorites
look up SABWay on wiki/guru, its the most pro combination of 3 heros u can use

Hi Terrokian, welcome to the forum. I can make a few suggestions to improve your build -
Hero Warriors suck, they kite away from AoE and are generally running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Pick up a Paragon if you want a physical Hero -they're basically a ranged Warrior with better party support. Check out the Paragon forum or the My Paragon Buddies thread for more information.
BHA is generally a better way to go than Barrage on a Hero. Take a Ranger Henchy if you want Barrage.
Hero Monks are meh...that slot is better filled with a more offensive character. Hero Monks can't manage energy properly with 10e skills on the bar and will spam till they drop. Read this thread for builds and debate about Hero vs Henchie monks.
The strongest heroes in Normal Mode tend to be Searing Flames Elementalists and Jagged Bones MM Necros (both Nightfall builds), they're much better options than you're currently using and will make your life a lot easier.
In regards to runes and equipment - Survivors or relevant +10 armour (eg Blessed Insignia) runes are much better options than Radiant. HSR is the way to go for caster weapons, so you're on track.

gj = good job.
BHA = Broad Head Arrow, it's a Faction skill
MM = Minion Master
To get you up to speed, read the stickies at the top of every class forum about the basics of running that specific class eg The Paragon Basics. Some builds work better in PvE than PvP (eg Dragon Slash vs Eviscerate) and some work better for humans than heroes, so check out relevant threads in this forum when you're done. That'll help you to understand why we're recommending specific builds and skills.
Also, it's worth checking out http://www.pvxwiki.com for the Hero builds. Download the templates and try them out, you'll find most of the builds we recommend on PvXWiki.

To be honest, I dont think your builds are all that bad. I definately would take into account the advice from other players.
Minion Masters are pretty good heroes to take, (although, minions BOMBERS are better - see the first post on the "Synergising Hero Builds" thread for details). As has been mentioned, heroes do not make good warriors unfortunately and there are better reses out there than Resurrect, try [skill=text]Resurrection Chant[/skill] or [skill=text]Death Pact Signet[/skill].
Your monk build is pretty solid. But I always find a hybrid works a little better:
WoH hybrid:
[card]Word Of Healing[/card][card]Signet Of Rejuvenation[/card][card]Reversal Of Fortune[/card][card]Dismiss Condition[/card][card]Spirit Bond[/card][card]Aegis[/card][card]Resurrection Chant[/card].

And you have Distracting Shot, so, all is not lost. The thing I wonder is...is the pet actually doing anything? I mean, other than making more red bars for the monk to push up? With such low Beast Mastery I'd advise ditch the pet. Get rid of Barrage, especially since you don't have a splinter rit and use either Prepared Shot, Broad Head Arrow or Burning Arrow. Keep Savage and Distracting, keep Lightning Reflexes, Get rid of Resurrect for a proper Res skill, get rid of Hunter's Shot. Pack a preparation such as Read the Wind or Expert's Focus maybe (or Apply Poison if you want to put some points in Wilderness). Then use another attack skill depending on what best suits the area. For example, Crossfire when there's lots of blocking, since you're a warrior, Crossfire should work ok, or Screaming Shot / Pin Down for more conditions.

At moment tracking down alot of these skills.Didn't realize how many I didn't have, but will post and update on things.Paragon is probably going to be the most challenging seeing as most of the skills lie in some Yohlon Haven. And I've never been there yet.

I could never be arsed unlocking skills - if you buy the PvP skill unlock packs your Heroes will have access right off the bat and you can use Tomes to grab the ones you need

any shield with any req will do for hayda. she will just get 8 al. and I wouldnt run LoD or ribbon on a hero. LoD does almost nothing on a huge recharge and ribbon costs to much, and i dont doubt that heros will use it wrong. bring WoH and SoA.

Do you still get shield inscription/handle bonuses if you don't have the req for it?

Terrokian, now its a bit hard to tell coz it is dependant on the primary profession, I npersonally lke Rit Ressurections for their speed and quality, I also dont like any kind of rez on a munk cuz if it starts ressing mid-battle the consequences could be fatal, but the thing I whanted to tell is that taking a rez is not 1337 imo.

I understand you're not after cookie cutter builds, but you're using builds that are 90% cookie cutter and 10% meh... The Warrior is a PvP build. Whilst it's effective in that arena, either a Dragon Slash or Triple Chop build is better in PvE. The reason for this is the ability to spam "Save Yourselves!" for the rest of the team. Steam on the Stunning Striker is more of a gimmick than an effective tool to spread blind. I've tried to get that working effectively myself and i'd rather fill that slot with something else. You're already getting Dazed from Broad Head Arrow, so Stunning Strike is obsolete. Try Defensive Anthem in that slot instead. Vicious Attack is obsolete because you've got Eviscerate for Deep Wound. Cruel Spear's basically a ranged Eviscerate, so you could use that if you change the Warrior to D-Slash or Triple Chop. They're on Fire's kinda wasted without an additional source of burning. If you take a Searing Flames elementalist or another Blazing Spear Paragon it becomes much more useful. Beast Mastery needs to be buffed to increase the survivability of your lizard. Drop Marksmanship back to 12 and put the points in Beast. There are better options than taking a pet with no attack slots on your bar, but whatever floats your boat... Light of Deliverance is pretty weak as your Monk's elite. For a similar but weaker party healing effect, you could use Song of Restoration on your Paragon while using Word of Healing on the Monk to counter spikes. Heroes aren't very good with Reversal of Fortune, Healing Ribbon is expensive and Protective Spirit will get you in energy trouble in late-game PvE. Protective Spirit is best used proactively, Heroes are reactive and tend to cast it after you actually need it. A better Monk build would be - Word of Healing {e} Dwayna's Kiss Signet of Rejuvenation Cure Hex Dismiss Condition / Remove Hex Guardian / Shield of Absorption Aegis Glyph of Lesser Energy The reasoning for selecting these skills is stated in the Monk thread I posted. The bar comes from 3 years of experience and a lot of research in the Monk forum, it's about the best you can hope to run on a Hero. Guild Wars is a team game, give everyone skills to support the team (Save Yourselves!, Defensive Anthem, Aegis etc) and you'll make your job a lot easier. Ultimately you'll also find that you don't need 3 Monks - it's much better to fill that Hero slot with another offensive character. Terrokian
Definitely getting the point that cookie cutter builds are basically that way because that is simply what works. The best skills are the best.Period.Pretty much I like axes and tanking even those that may not be the best overall tactics in the game. But you are right about thinking about who is backing me up with what skills and that's where I felt I could really use some good advice.Going to take a fresh look at my monk and my paragon. The pet is another one of those not a great tactic but just liked having one in the mix thing. It does draw fire off of me and seems to help in the attacking of stuff.
Super Igor
Pet + BHA was always good not to mention that pets are perfect tanks, ur build is fine now and just godly compaired to what u have started with.
