Why not rework one of the crappy PvE only skills and give us ...

Upier, sometimes I'm torn between calling you retarded and hugging you.

I like your idea, I don't like your reasons behind it.

Well IF those are the options - I guess I'll take the hugging.

Edit: that's of course all based on the version of PvE that we play now.
It's completely moronic to run around screaming about some higher standards that should apply IF they never did nor never will.
PvE is broken. Let's make the most of it!

No reason to break it even more.

Can't really see any downside to the suggestion, although most would probably still not take it - there are too many other PvE skills which still would be more useful to bring instead - but maybe we'd see more beastmasters.

So sure, why not.

I think people would be more willing to accept Charm Animal if they reworded it to sound more like a minion, summon or spirit skill; Instantly summon a lvl 20 pet which attacks your foes. This pet lives for infinite seconds, experiences no natural health degeneration, has a natural speed and armor boost, and doesn't vanish when destroyed.

I think a better and more reasonable suggestion is for more of the pet support skills to offer rez as a side affect, like call of prot, symbiotic bond, heal as one, run as one, NRA, companionship, etc. Not all of them of course, but some.

The OP's original suggestion would've been a decent idea for a pve skill, but I wouldn't say it's something we NEED.

And the leading contender for worthless pve skill is deft strike. Until they swap the conditions around its garbage unless someone comes up with a need for a wand or staff based attack skill.

Here's a better idea, just stop complaining and learn to live with the game the way it is. (Though I'll agree some skills reek and most nerfs should be returned to normal)

I've always thought Charm Animal should be a 2-second res, especially since the functionality of pets was reduced with the removal of their corpses.

But it's not a summon. All other summons allow to make indefinite pets.

If the time you can have your pet with you were limited and you had to summon it again after it's death, it would be a summon.

/signed, with all the aforementioned ideas. Also only if the new combined skill is called "chicken leg lure"; heals and charms.
