There's is an amazing amount of info on where to farm for items and what kind of build to do so.But what if your need is not items and your build is ok,but you need 500k gold(money). Now some would say go farm ectos and sell them(or some other high end item).I've noticed that when you start talking "I want 50K+ for my such n such"that you could spend a couple hours trying to find someone with that amount of gold to burn on it.Where or how is a good way to go after STRICTLY gold? Can this be done in both Normal and Hard Mode?
farmerfez
The way you make money is by getting those rare items and crafting materials then selling them for gold. If you just farm gold it would take years to get to 500k since only like 100-200 gold drops on average.
Destro Maniak
thats not possible. You can get gold items and sell 7 of them from 5k thats a good deal for wisdom(title) people

So basically farm items or live on welfare.

Well? What do you want to hear but the truth? The average pile of gold dropped by an enemy in Hard mode is, as already said, 100-200. Best case (and most unrealistic) scenario, you solo-farm an area with a lot of enemies and get all drops for yourself and your average pile of gold is 200 and 1/4 of all enemies killed drop a pile of gold.
1k gold = 5 kills
500k gold = 2500 kills
2500 kills @ 1/4 drop rate = 10000 kills
This is a FAR more generous scenario than you will ever, ever see in Guild Wars. It only gets worse from there. So yes, materials and that lucky rare drop that's valuable will get you to your goal faster than hoping for piles of gold.

Alright message taken. Was curious if maybe I was just completely farming wrong or something.I am relatively new to the game and was just wondering.

Everything drops gold, there aren't any spots that drop more then another. So youir best best is to provide a service or sell items.

Hero faction farm.... 150 gold per min... no where else in the game can you make gold that fast (without getting a lucky item drop) Lutgardis Conservatory (factions) is where this is done from....
Breakdown is like this if your farming the Kurzick title track
10k faction is 25 runs thats 3750 gold per 10k faction... takes about 25 to 30 mins for 10k faction.
To max this title is 10 mill faction donated... that is 25thousand runs.....
that is 3 mill 750k gold farmed... time... well nah thats about as far as my math skills go lol
Personaly I think this farm right here is just one more set of evidence that loot scaleing seriously needs to change. When you can make more gold killing NOTHING......something is seriously wrong with the drop rate of cold hard cash.
Allow me to ad I dont find anything wrong with this hero faction farm it is a nice thing for those like me that can not stand alliance battles... But... come on I've totaly stoped killing baddies for loot because quite frankly .... this is more profitable.....

My Lipgloss is Cool
Loot Scaling isn't the problem there...It's the fact that a runner can make 350g in <1 minute, every minute (His 150 + two other people dropping him 100 (the usuall going price for HFFF))

Power merching elite tomes.
Buy low, sell high, pocket the difference.
You need a minimum of 50k to get started. Buy monk, ele, and necro tomes for anything below 10k, and sell for 10k or higher. Rit tomes can be had for 10k and easily sold for 14k. The other tomes generally dont move as fast as these 4....
I tend to stick mainly to Monk, Ele, Necro and Ritualist elite tomes.........especially when you're just starting. Once you get to the 150k levels you can expand into whatever you want. I made about 200k in a weekend pretty quickly and very easily doing this.
Stick to the 3 large trade towns (kamadan, lions arch, and the one i always misspell, kiachang center.)

Antithesis
Kobey, Bocjo and Dr Dimento have the right idea.
Run people from to town to town / missions / dungeons. You need to be good at it and fraud / failure is a risk. Power trading is the how-to-guide to getting stinking rich. Boring. HFFF with multiple accounts is working for me to farm just gold. With 3 a/c's it takes me about 80-90 secs per cycle (town > zone > mission > 3 x reward > town) and nets me 20K / hr in gold. Two accounts trade their faction for Amber, so toss that into the mix. Boring but the faction title tracks are useful for PvE skills. Event weekends are a gold-mine. Event items sell like hot-cakes so it's easy to make 500K-1000K over a weekend. Requires elbow grease and mindless repetition. Hidden treasures in Nightfall. With 10 toons (1 of ea class) grabbing rewards once every 31 days, there's an easy 100K-150K for one day's work / month. Treasure drops include cash rewards of 500g to 2500g, they add up quickly to around 10K-15K per character per run. Farm Raptor Nestlings for gold items, sell in Spamadan as 7 gold unid 5K.

At 150g/run, this is 1,875,000. If you do it with 2 paying customers, then it is 350g/run and the total is 4,375,000.
Assuming 1 run takes 1 minute (and it will probably take more), then the total minutes spent would be 12,500, or 208 hours, which is 8.6 days. 8.6 days straight of HFFing will max your title, and net you a (very) good amount of money.

I bought around 10 stacks of Golden Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies during the easter weekend @ 130g per point. It took only maybe an hour to get that many in Kamadan.
After a few weeks I will sell them for 200g per point.

Running the Cathedral of Flames dungeon makes pretty good money I think. Just go there with a hero and charge people 2k for the run (takes about 50 minutes), so at least 13.5k a run, plus all the drops, hidden treasures and end-chest.

IMO Destroyer Core farming is where it's really at these days. They go for 300-400g each, usually 300 though. If you have the right build and equipment you can solo NM as a Warrior (which I see that you are). It takes about 3-4 minutes and you usually get 3 per run. If you do this I recommend that you save up more than just a few because most people will prefer to buy in bulk.
http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:W/...Destroyer_Core
Follow the directions, except for stats. You need 15 Strength total, otherwise you are more likely to die because Dolyak won't give as much armor, and will last only 18 seconds, rather than 20. Just take points from tactics, because if you have at least 3 in tactics you're fine.
Hope this helps. The only real way to get raw gold has been nerfed for a while now. You used to be able to farm Vermin outside of Senji's Corner and get tons of raw gold but not anymore.

You can make a metric shit ton of money with an elementalist (and a friend who is also an ele) running people thru nahpui quarter (both normal and HM). The run takes about 13 minutes.....and (charging people 4k a pop, 5k for HM) you can make about 30k per run (split 2 ways is 15k per person).
Takes no more than 13 minutes once you get used to it.......and since 25 is masters (like 30 something in HM) it's easy money.
I find the biggest thing that slows me down is people calling me a scammer in Nahpui because according to them it's "impossible" to do it with an ele........despite the fact that i've solo'd it multiple times (takes 40+ minutes completely solo).

wait so you just duo? No heroes or anything? I might have to look into that, mind showing me some time?

CoF running for 2.5k each, nets you 15k split between you and your smiter(hero), for 45 minutes. Then you sell your drops and you have yourself 20k+

However, it's done with ele and we generally duo it (each one soloing 2 bosses). A 4 man ele runner team could do this mission in 2 minutes pretty easily. At 4 or 5k each for 2 minutes of work, this is the most profitable.....but we don't have a 4th and are on at different times, so we stick to duoing.
The build is pretty easy to figure out, but with that said, the run is 30% build, 70% technique.

Here tis:
Note: For normal mode you can use any earth staff of enchanting you want, for hard mode i suggest a shield with a "Like a Rolling Stone" inscription and "Of Devotion" shield handle with a +20% enchant sword or axe w/ "I have the Power" inscription.
All geomancer armor, highest vigor rune you can afford, minor energy storage, minor air, superior earth headpeice.
16 Earth Magic
10 Energy Storage
9 Inspiration Magic
4 Air Magic
[skill]Glyph of Swiftness[/skill][skill]Obsidian Flesh[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Kinetic Armor[/skill][skill]Stone Striker[/skill][skill]Mantra of Earth[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill]
Usage: Use Glyph of swiftness to maintain ob flesh. Maintain EVERYTHING at all times with the exception of sliver armor. In normal mode, maintaining kinetic is somewhat optional, but suggested to ease the run. If both Stoneflesh Aura and Obsidian flesh are ending at the same time, Obsidian Flesh has higher priority.....a second or five without stoneflesh is easily survived, ESPECIALLY if you have kinetic armor up.
One runner kills the turtle and kirin, the 2nd runner kills the dragon and pheonix.
They should be killed in this order
Necro (turtle)
Elementalist (dragon)
Monk (kirin)
Mesmer (pheonix)
This means runner one goes in the middle left portal, and runner 2 goes in the middle right portal.
It's a cakewalk until you get to the kirin. By this time, runner 2 should be waiting just outside of the pheonix boss's aggro. When runner 1 kills the kirin, an essence of kirin will spawn right by runner 2....plan for the knockdown. Runner 2 should kill that kirin before aggroing the pheonix boss. Once that kirin is dead, while waiting just outside the pheonix's aggro, time your enchants so that you use ob flesh and stoneflesh right after one another......then aggo the pheonix boss. Upon aggroing, DO NOT CAST ANYTHING! There will be kirins in the mob, which will knock you down at the same time......once they knock you down and you get up, cast Kinetic Armor. It has a 3 second cast time, which is perfect for drawing out the Pheonix's [skill]leech signet[/skill] Once she interrupts your kinetic armor, cast ur enchants again to maintain, and cast sliver armor ASAP.
Prior to casting sliver armor, you should be right next to her.
Generally the more experienced runner should take the pheonix, due to the higher difficulty. The runner who kills the kirin is advised to take "I am Unstoppable!" or [skill]Ward of Stability[/skill] to counter knockdown from the kirin boss's [skill]Signet of Judgment[/skill]
Have fun!
NOTE: For speed's sake, once you both spawn, you can run to the first bosses without obsidian flesh up (but WITH stoneflesh, stonestriker, and mantra of earth)...however, you must maintain ob flesh prior to aggroing those bosses.
NOTE2: It's more difficult than it sounds, but with practice it becomes very easy. It's about the only way I've been able to make 55k in 50 minutes on any given day. This includes selling the MASSIVE amounts of feathers you will collect along the way.

so you just keep all of those up, when you get to a boss you put up sliver?
does the boss die before sliver ends? If not, do you just have to wait 20 seconds before doing dmg?
