This is an idea to make stances cancel able. It doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me why a person can enter a stance but needs to wait a full duration before they can leave it.
Perhaps have it more like maintained enchantments, where you can click their icon to remove the stance.
I was thinking about distance stances instead of item stances, but i know everyone is just going to say "that is teh stupeed idea dhurrr"...but i am going to pitch it anyways:
Distance based stances instead of time...Sprint: Move 25% faster for 15 seconds. changes to Sprint: Move 25% faster for 100 feet. This would make it so your stance would not continuously run out when you stand still or move slowly (snared).
But that would take probably way too much change to mechanics. Although distance is already readable in GW (scorpion wire). but w/e
Stances?

Some stances could be cancellable. Those without 'downsides' or final effects.
For that, an small icon like those of Maintained enchantments would do.
It could be a subtype of Stance, like 'maintained enchantment spells' are somehow a subtype of Enchantment spell.
But specially those with downsides should not be cancellable. They are like that so you must face the consequences of activating them.

Maybe to get the 'ending' effect. Like shadow steps.
Or maybe by cancelling an stance you get reduce the recharge time.
Who knows. The thing is that allowing to cancel those with downsides would be a hard hit to metagame, since they are quite hard to remove, with only 3 PvP skills being able to do so.
