The Tysan Clan is an old Battle.net guild (founded December 1997) that has recently expanded to Guild Wars. We are fairly new to this game, but we have years of experience leading successful divisions in Diablo 2, StarCraft and WarCraft 3 and various other games. We have also had some less successful endeavors such as World of WarCraft, which has taught us valuable lessons.

We are best classified as a group of casual gamers. While our members are by no means losers or "n00bs", the majority prefer to play for fun, and as such, the percentage of top-level players among our ranks is rather low.

The Tysan Clan is unique compared to other clans because we favor democracy rather than a single despotic leader - a very rare trait among guilds. Our leader (currently called the King) is elected by majority vote, and new members wishing to join must manage to get a 60% approval rate by all full members before being granted full membership. Even so, we are currently in the process of further democratizing the guild so that all leadership positions are the subject of election, and that the terms of leadership are limited. Our future system will be based on the Borda Count voting method.

We are looking for mature members to help flesh out our Guild Wars section. We have no real age restrictions, we determine whether or not you are suitable based on your behavior. It takes a certain type of person to fit in - so if you are prone to throw tantrums or incapable of having a proper discussion with those who do not share your opinions you need not apply. Also, being a social guild, we require a high level of forum activity. We are members of the Luxon faction.
